With 83% of disabilities being acquired during a person’s lifetime, it’s essential for employers to rethink their approach to supporting newly disabled employees. Research shows that less than half of employers offer adequate physical health support, and even fewer provide comprehensive mental, social, and financial assistance. Effective communication about available resources and making necessary workplace adjustments are key to retaining employees and creating an inclusive work environment. Disability and Work: It’s About Attitude, Not Just Rules The government says they’re changing the rules on benefits to help more disabled people get off them and into work. But the real issue isn’t just the rules it’s the attitudes toward disabled people that need to change. Businesses in every sector need to think differently about how they approach employment. Offering more hybrid and remote working options could make such a difference. Just because someone can’t leave their house doesn’t mean they can’t do an incredible job working from home. Disability doesn’t mean inability. Yes, sometimes we do things differently, but it’s the attitudes of managers and leaders that really matter. A supportive, flexible approach can open up so many opportunities for everyone. #DisabilityAndWork #AccessibilityMatters #InclusionAtWork #ChangeTheAttitude #RemoteWork #HybridWork #DisabilityAwareness #WorkplaceInclusion

Almost 1 in 4 working-age adults in the UK is classified as disabled. And although reasonable adjustments are more than legal compliance, they actually benefit everyone. Inclusive workplaces foster a more supportive, productive, and diverse workforce. For example, flexible working is a win for all! ✅ For employees with disabilities, flexible hours can help manage health conditions. For everyone, flexibility boosts work-life balance and reduces stress. Results? Happier, and more productive employees, all round. #DisabilityEmploymentAwarenessMonth #Disability #Inclusivity #Accessibilty #ReasonableAdjustments #InclusiveHiring
