⏰ STARTING NOW - the Health Subcommittee will consider legislative proposals that could significantly impact our fight for better healthcare policies. Among the critical measures being reviewed is the Reauthorization of the Rare Pediatric Disease Priority Review Voucher Program. The Creating Hope Reauthorization Act (H.R. 7384) reauthorizes the Rare Pediatric Disease Priority Review Voucher (PRV) program for four years, ensuring this vital incentive that has no cost to taxpayers can continue to spur innovation in rare diseases that disproportionately affect children. A well deserved update for this little gem of a resource. Public Health is such a HUGE career path on entry- there's so much of it and the guidance for core professional skills can easily get lost in the sea of technical competencies. During the UKPHR portfolio process we're often surprised how many senior Public Health professionals have never seen this guide- or heard of the Nolan Principles....more to follow on both!
Building trust with the communities we serve is at the heart of the public health profession. In this video, Sarah Price, Director of Public Health at NHS England, reflects on the second domain of the revised Good Public Health Practice guidance – Patients, Partnership and Communication – and the importance of treating individuals, communities and populations with kindness, compassion and respect.
