In Austrian and Bavarian traditions, Krampus is a horned figure known for his playful, slightly sinister antics in early December. But he’s since crossed cultural borders, becoming an anti-hero in U.S. celebrations, with parades, festivals, and even themed parties honoring him each year. Fun Facts about Krampus: 🔹 In Austria, Germany, and parts of Slovenia, people celebrate Krampusnacht on December 5th, where costumed figures roam the streets, adding a fun fright to the season. 🔹 Krampus traditions go back centuries, blending elements of folklore and holiday cheer with Krampus serving as the shadow to St. Nicholas. 🔹 Modern celebrations have turned Krampus into a beloved anti-hero, with people celebrating his unique place in holiday culture through art, music, and events.
