Every day, systemic inequities force Native American and Black families into impossible choices. Generations of housing discrimination, unjust policies, and economic exclusion have left too many of our neighbors without a safe place to call home. For families experiencing homelessness, the impact is devastating—children struggle in school, parents face barriers to stability, and dreams are deferred for yet another generation. But we believe in the power of community. We believe in justice. We believe every family deserves not just shelter, but the dignity, stability, and hope that comes with having a home. This year, we have an opportunity to create lasting change. Your donation helps us open doors for BIPOC families, providing safe, climate-resilient housing where they can heal, rebuild, and thrive. Don’t wait until Giving Tuesday to make a difference. Help us reach our year-end goal today—because no family should have to wait for a safe place to call home. Donate now: www.just-homes.org Share this post to amplify the mission. Together, we can ensure justice and housing for all. #YourSupportOpensDoors #HousingIsJustice #BIPOCHousingMatters #DonateToday #JustHomes #oakland #California #unhoused #Bipoc

With the mounting pressure to survive within a mega competitive system that feasts on the same limited resources, thriving has become a privilege, and the less-privileged have it none. We are aware that sheltering those experiencing homelessness is not sustainable by itself and would not solve the homelessness crisis that has taken over our bridges, streets, and economy. This is why Sheltered Hope Initiative has taken its time to familiarise itself with the homeless community, their needs, and priorities. As a result, we were able to come up with sustainable solutions that would help transition the unhoused to self-sufficient individuals through skill, training, and employment empowerment programs developed for sheltered residents The demand on shelter is high, but the resources are almost unavailable. We all desire to live in a better world and create a better community for our children to thrive, and it starts with a little impact donation. It starts with you. #housingsolutions #homelessshelters #survivelagos #donatetoday #charitystartswithyou #sustainableshelter

Did you know that over 38,000 young people aged 15–24 years presented alone to a homelessness service in 2022–23? Of these young people, almost half experienced mental ill-health, and over one-third experienced domestic and family violence. Most of these young people needed short- or long-term accommodation, and most were turned away due to a lack of capacity. These statistics only scratch the surface of issues that young people experiencing homelessness face. To have statistics like this in a country like Australia is not acceptable; together, we can have a tangible impact, and now is the time to act. #wehavetodobetter #YHMD

Last night, I slept outside in freezing weather to raise awareness for youth experiencing homelessness. Covenant House Alaska provides shelter and support for 200 young people every night. Tragically, some who can’t access these services are forced to take desperate measures—like sleeping in cemeteries and using tombstones to shield themselves from the freezing winds. So far, we’ve raised nearly $10.5K toward our $15K goal, and I want to thank everyone who has already generously donated. Your support means so much and is making a real difference. Please consider donating through https://lnkd.in/ggaicFrv or sharing this post with someone who might be able to help. Even the smallest contribution can make a big impact! This was my second year participating, and even as a lifelong Alaskan, it’s mentally and physically taxing to prepare for a night outdoors in the wind, snow, or freezing temperatures. Even with state-of-the-art gear, access to a bathroom, and knowing this experience ends when I wake up, it’s still tough. I can’t imagine what it’s like to live this reality every day with no end in sight. Many people want to address homelessness but don’t realize that up to 50% of homeless adults started as homeless youth. I’ve already donated $2.5K to this campaign. If we can reach $12.5K by Friday, 11/29, I’ll contribute another $2.5K. Together, we can make a meaningful difference for these young people.

Thanks to your incredible support, we raised nearly $3,000 yesterday, bringing us just $2,340 away from hitting our year-end goal of $40,000. Together, we’re making a real impact in the fight to end homelessness. 💙 But the need has never been more urgent. Last week's 2024 National Point-in-Time (PIT) Count report revealed a record-breaking 771,480 people experiencing homelessness on a single night this year—the highest ever recorded. What’s driving this crisis? 🏠 A worsening affordable housing shortage 📈 Rising costs and stagnating wages 🛑 Expired COVID-era safety nets 🌎 Displacement from natural disasters and health crises While Atlanta has made progress, with a 30% reduction in homelessness since 2016, the need for affordable housing and supportive services continues to grow. 💡 You can help today: 👉 Donate: Every dollar moves us closer to providing housing and hope. https://lnkd.in/exagyN-e 👉 Share: Spread the word to inspire others to join the mission. Let’s come together to ensure everyone has a place to call home. 🏠💙 #EndHomelessness #AffordableHousing #DonateNow #MakeAnImpact
