Parking lot exit sign at Tampa’s Messiah Lutheran Church. As their service ends and individuals leave the church parking lot, a powerful reminder resonates: "You are entering the mission field." This statement carries profound meaning, urging everyone to recognize that their faith extends beyond the walls of the church and into the world around them. Just beyond church parking lots, every day presents an opportunity to embody the values of love, compassion, and service, preached within the church by Messiah’s Pastor, Mark Adrian. That the mission field is not just a distant place; it is the neighborhood, the workplace, and the community where everyday interactions occur. Each person can have influence by spreading kindness and understanding in their daily lives. For individuals leaving Messiah Lutheran’s church parking lot, embracing the idea of entering the mission field can inspire a commitment to service and compassion. It is a reminder that living out one’s faith happens every day, in every interaction. Recognizing the suffering face of Christ in all we encounter. Together, by spreading love and kindness, everyone can help create ‘heaven on earth’ —brighter and more caring neighborhoods, communities, and world. Dorothy Day Tampa – mission field laborers.

September 11th marks a solemn anniversary, a day etched in our nation's history. It was a day of immense sorrow, a day that tested our resolve as a nation. In the face of unimaginable tragedy, Americans came together, united in grief and determination. Twenty-three years later, the echoes of that day still resonate. The scars remain, a constant reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of cherishing every moment. As a deeply divided nation, the 9/11 Remembrance offers a powerful opportunity for reflection and unity. It serves as a stark contrast to the partisan battles that often consume our discourse. Let us remember the victims, their families, and the heroes who risked their lives to save others. Let us honor their memory by striving for a more compassionate and understanding society. Let us recommit ourselves to the values that make America great: freedom, justice, and the unwavering belief in the inherent dignity of every human being. May the 9/11 Remembrance inspire us to bridge our differences, to find common ground, and to work together towards a brighter future for all. #patriotday #neverforget #9/11 #september11 Colorado Springs Hispanic Business Council - The Hispanic Chamber The Adelante Leadership Institute United States Air Force Academy Randy Helms

In many congregations, there is an implicit understanding that clergy are called to serve their faith community with dedication, passion, and tireless energy. However, this noble calling often comes with a set of unrealistic expectations that make it difficult for clergy to thrive, both personally and professionally. From inadequate compensation to overwhelming demands on their time, clergy are frequently placed in positions where they are expected to give far more than is reasonable, often at the expense of their own well-being. Let’s take a closer look at some of these expectations and how they impact clergy and the congregations they serve. https://lnkd.in/gEFcu8-D

#CommunityEngagement is a term widely used yet has vastly different interpretations. In my very biased opinion, to be effective agents of social change, it is important for us to recognize that we ALL ARE COMMUNITY MEMBERS and we each have beautifully diverse talents, skills, resources, power and influence that must be woven together to achieve our shared goals. When we engage with one another, for GHI, it means far more than transactional interactions or checking a box. It means earning trust, being in fellowship, developing an understanding of nuance, not shying away from tough conversations and centering those who are most effected by the inequities we aspire to eliminate. I offer a glimpse into who I am, where I have been and how I aspire to lead as an arbiter of GHI's community engagement efforts with hopes that you each will allow me to learn from your wisdom. #healthequity #maternalhealth #ruralhealth #advocacy #organizing #ittakesavillage #foundation
"As we continue to walk in partnership with our fellow Georgians in our pursuit of fostering health equity, we must do so earning trust, listening actively, being in fellowship often, honoring our past, and being additive to an extraordinarily complex landscape." In our latest Leadership Blog Post, our VP of Community Engagement, Ky Lindberg, shares thoughts on the role of community engagement at the Initiative, and the three core beliefs that have guided her since she was a child. https://lnkd.in/d3VfdSmk
