From 26th October 2024 employers have to take reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment of their workers (The Worker Protection Act). As an employer you need to put the necessary steps in place to support your employees and ensure everyone has the knowledge and training. An important part of this is to risk assess all elements of the business. What happens if you don’t comply with this new duty? If an employee successfully files a sexual harassment claim, the compensation awarded can be increased by up to 25%.
