Here’s a spoof on what’s happening in Canada! The part I have a hard time with is the part where the actor is demonizing investors. It’s just simply lacking truth and information. The real reason is our government wants to monopolize housing, health care, infrastructure, education, mental health services, food, etc. etc. etc. at one time I believed privatization was the enemy, I’ve see. The logic and now know if government is charged with all these responsibilities the lack of accountability leads to ineffective and inefficient services to the end user! We need to be less tribal and think logically- the formula is as follows - less investors + more government restrictions = less supply. Less supply + unchecked immigration = higher housing costs / more homelessness / more mental health issues.

Massive landslide in Papua New Guinea: Villages were leveled and more than 300 people were buried alive, the death toll may rise again A massive landslide in northern Papua New Guinea has resulted in the leveling of a remote village, burying over 300 people alive and destroying more than 1,100 houses. The disaster has blocked main roads, destroyed food sources, and cut off drinking water supply. Emergency rescue teams are struggling to reach the affected area due to difficult terrain and concerns about further landslides. International aid from countries like Australia and the United States is being offered, with efforts underway to assess the damage and casualties. The death toll is expected to rise, and rescue operations are being hindered by ongoing landslides. Appeal for assistance has been made by survivors in need of urgent help. #AsiaRisk #NaturalDisasters #Taiwan Follow us for daily updates on risk and operations in Asia! https://lnkd.in/gXvZtBpy

Today is R U OK? Day—a reminder that checking in with the people around us should be part of everyday life, not just today. At the Migration Institute of Australia (MIA), we encourage you to ask 'R U OK?' any day of the year. Life’s challenges don’t follow a calendar, and with 72% of Australians reporting elevated levels of distress, your simple check-in could make a world of difference. Let’s normalise these meaningful conversations so that when someone is struggling, they know they can turn to you. Don’t wait—ask R U OK? any day of the year. 🌍Empowering Communities through Soccer in Nairobi's Kibera Slum Amidst Flooding 🌍 Recent severe flooding in Kenya has impacted over 191,000 people, with more than 150,365 displaced. In response, the remarkable community of Nairobi's Kibera, the largest slum in Africa, is coming together through the universal language of soccer. The A-GOAL organization, in collaboration with Kikkoman Corporation, has been proactive in harnessing the power of sports to foster unity and provide essential support. The Kibera A-GOAL League, initiated by Takeshi Seo & Japan, has been a source of joy and solidarity, engaging over 1,000 youths since October 2022. 🚀 Initiative Highlights: Emergency Relief: Immediate aid with mattresses, blankets, and food is being provided to families in Kibera, starting with 50 households, demonstrating the agility and compassion of the community. Sustained Engagement: The league not only promotes physical activity but also serves as a critical platform for distributing aid and bringing the community together during these challenging times. Community Empowerment: Local soccer clubs are at the forefront, leveraging their deep community ties to efficiently manage aid distribution and meet the urgent needs of the residents. 💡 The resilience of Kibera’s residents and the role of sports in strengthening community bonds are vividly on display. Let’s explore how we can further support or learn from such impactful initiatives. https://lnkd.in/gCcyS7an #Kenya #FloodRelief #CommunitySupport #SoccerForGood #CorporateResponsibility #GlobalImpact
