📣 #CallforProposal | Green Hydrogen Research 🌱 #GreenHydrogen and its economic ramp-up are crucial for a #sustainable economy and the #energy and #climate transition. 🔬 #Research and #Development play a crucial role in this process as they provide the solutions for green hydrogen along the entire value chain. 🧪 That is why the Ministero degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale, the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MUR) and the Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung are pushing ahead with research on green hydrogen. 🤝 Therefore, with this call for proposals, the German and Italian ministries, BMBF, MAECI and MUR, intend to strengthen the Italian-German cooperation in green hydrogen research and stimulate the related innovation processes in both countries. 🎯 The funding measure offers higher education institutions, non-university research institutions and commercial companies (in particular #SMEs) the opportunity to engage in joint research projects with partners from Italy and Germany and to take advantage of the existing cooperation potential in both countries. ⏰ Deadline for submission: 07 June 2024, 5 p.m. (CEST) More information: https://lnkd.in/eRRUh4va #villavigoni

At a recent hydrogen forum in Barcelona, Professor Marco Mele, CEO of SFBM SpA, delivered a standout speech addressing the determinants of hydrogen prices and its crucial role in shaping future energy markets and choices. Professor Mele emphasized the significance of the upcoming European elections, noting that political decisions in the coming months will significantly impact the development of hydrogen-related technologies and the acceleration of the transition towards a low-carbon economy. Professor Mele expressed a positive and optimistic outlook, firmly believing that hydrogen could play a pivotal role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and creating a more sustainable energy system. He called for greater commitment from European and national institutions to promote the development of this technology and encourage an effective and rapid energy transition. Shaping Sweden's Hydrogen Future - Solutions for Change! Sweden has set ambitious goals to become climate neutral and hydrogen plays an important role in this transition. Today, Stockholm hosts "Vätgaskonferensen 2024”, Sweden's largest gathering for the hydrogen industry. Young Scientist Award, hosted by Hydrogen Europe Research! This prestigious annual competition honors promising young researchers (35 years old or younger) from our member organizations who have made significant contributions to hydrogen -related projects. 👉The competition focuses on four pillars aligned with the Clean Hydrogen Partnership framework: - Hydrogen Production; - Hydrogen Storage and Distribution; - Hydrogen Usages; - Cross-Cutting Activities (safety, regulations, education, etc.). One young scientist will be recognised within each pillar, and an additional one will be elected the “Best Researcher of the Year,” resulting in a total of five awards. 👉Eligibility Criteria: - Must be 35 years old or younger; - Must be affiliated with a Hydrogen Europe Research member organization; - Demonstrate individual involvement in at least one hydrogen-related project. 🤝 Building on relationships and collaborations for a greener future. I recently had the opportunity to step in as a proxy for Mara, while she has been on mat leave, at the Greater Manchester Electrochemical Hydrogen Cluster (GMEHC) board meeting, and it was truly interesting to learn about the local hydrogen projects and the technical advancements in motion - particularly with our KTP well underway. GMEHC is doing fantastic work, bringing together industry, academia, and government to push forward hydrogen and fuel cell technologies. Their efforts are paving the way for a sustainable, low-carbon future by supporting real-world industry examples, which are essential for industry learning and moving the needle of the technology forward. We're fully immersed in our Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP), led by MohamadAli and Kerim, focusing on Power Quality, Hydrogen and Grid Connection. We're excited about the potential for future collaborations between The Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) and Enspec (including a newly approved PhD collaboration - further details coming soon). The combination of academic research and industry application is crucial for driving innovation and achieving our shared goals. While I'm not shy about the many hurdles that hydrogen technology has to overcome to be a viable and widely used technology, we're looking forward to contributing to these groundbreaking projects and exploring new opportunities for collaboration. 📸 Flashback to our first meeting with Amer Gaffar FRSA at the Manchester Fuel Cell Innovation Centre tour with Stephen, David, and Mara back in 2021!
