American Airlines will buy 100 ZeroAvia hydrogen-electric engines for regional jets, aiming for zero inflight emissions by 2050! 🌍 Key highlights: ✈️ Targeting regional jets like the Bombardier CRJ700 💰 American Airlines increases investment in ZeroAvia's Series C financing 🧪 ZeroAvia progressing with 20-seat prototype, eyeing larger aircraft 💧 Only emission: water vapour - a huge leap for clean aviation! Private jets: can the super-rich supercharge zero-emission aviation? 🤔 "In 2019, one tenth of all flights departing from France were with private jets, half of which travelled less than 500km. In fact, private jets are twice as likely to be used for very short trips (< 500 km) within Europe as compared to flights in commercial aviation." 😰 This is exactly the market we are addressing with our Electron 5 or E5 aircraft, it has an operating range of 500km at launch. 💪 "Recommendations: 1) By 2030, regulators should only permit the use of hydrogen or electric aircraft powered with green hydrogen and electricity for private jet flights under 1,000km within Europe." 😵 Over time the operating range will improve to cover all of those 1000km range. 🙌 #bizav #privatejets #thejetbusiness https://lnkd.in/eukbzgYM

Given the digital connectivity, minimizing the travel should happen. Avoid. Local spots based sustainable tourism is to be encouraged. The oddity is, for environment related leadership meets, chartered flights are flown. Shows that we are not serious. Replacing HC guzzling engines is welcome.
