Yesterday Glastonbury tickets sold out in 35 minutes. Whilst nothing beats being at a festival in person what could be the next best thing for fans and to extend the footprint of large events to a global audience? Some fans are never able to be there in person due to being on the other side of the world or just not having the financial bandwidth to buy a £300+ ticket! But there are brand new ways to experience live events that Glastonbury could really exploit for future festivals. Below is a perfect example of how sports fans in the US are benefitting from the new transportive Cosm dome experience combined with The Famous Group's Vixi Suite premium interactive fan tools over in the US. By combining the Cosm portal viewing experience with lean forward fan tools it allows fans to get closer to the live event action, extending the footprint of live events that feels authentic, genuinely transportive and experience worthy! I say again, this of course this doesn't replace being there in person but by providing a whole new layer of attendance and fan interactivity this really is an exciting way to allow more global fans to partake in live event experiences as the next best alternative to being there. (Yes, the fans in the pictures below are watching the action on a 10k resolution screen - they are not at the event!) ....and all without the need to take your wellies. During my time at Iventis I’ve had the exciting opportunity to work with Epic Games' Unreal Engine and Cesium’s Unreal Engine plugin in our Digital Twin product. The Digital Twin aims to combine geospatial data with Unreal Engine’s real-time rendering. For the Digital Twin we utilise a variety of technologies to help bring a higher fidelity to venues for event organisers to visualise their event plans within popular venues. Thanks to Unreal Engine’s Lumen, we can simulate realistic lighting within venue interiors, creating a more realistic atmosphere. We also understand that not everyone will have the hardware required to run this in real time. That’s why we also utilise pixel streaming and embed the Digital Twin straight into the Iventis app. There's more to the world than just our hand-crafted venue models, that’s why we also use the Cesium For Unreal plugin with Google’s 3d tiles to help bring the world into Unreal Engine. This allows for users to explore the world outside of the venues and see where they are situated. With Unreal Engine 5.3, we have also started to experiment with Motion Matching, the next generation of animation technology. With Motion Matching we can have a pool of high-quality motion captured animations that we can utilise, making our third person character feel more grounded and believable in our world. To match our high fidelity models, we incorporate Epic Game’s Meta Humans to produce realistic and believable character models inside of the Digital Twin.
