✨ Celebrating Impact Culture’s 4th Anniversary! ✨ We mad it to four years - and it is once again this odd feeling that I only started a year ago, while simultaneously feeling like it has been a lifetime. The journey has been nothing short of a rollercoaster— yes, I know it is a cliche but it is true. With every year comes new opportunities, new challenges, and, of course, growing pains. Some of our highlights? • Working with over 90 clients in 10+ countries. • Delivering more than 1000 hours of impactful EDI training and strategies to senior leadership teams, C-suite executives, and trustee boards across various sectors. • .Having over 2000 learners using our e-learning modules. But I’d be lying if I said it’s been easy. The road to making sustainable change is full of highs and lows. There are days where imposter syndrome creeps in, and others where it feels like the weight of running a business could crush you. There have been many nights that I have spend crying and with a deep sense of loneliness. Most people that have started a business will know, it truly can feel lonely at times. Yet, with every challenge, there’s growth, resilience, and so much learning. One person I must take a moment to thank is Sanisha Wynter, my brilliant co-lead. Without her support, I honestly don’t think I would have survived these last few years. Sanisha is a force for good, and I couldn’t be prouder to work alongside such an inspirational woman. To everyone who has been part of this journey, whether as clients, partners, or supporters from afar, thank you. I just used to think it was all for show-off, but over time, my perspective shifted dramatically. I began to realize that celebrating milestones is about so much more than self-promotion; it’s an opportunity for connection, reflection, and inspiration. When we share our achievements, we invite others to celebrate with us. These posts can create a ripple effect, encouraging colleagues and peers to acknowledge their own successes, fostering a culture of positivity and motivation. Moreover, reflecting on our milestones helps us appreciate the journey. Every achievement, whether a promotion, project completion, or a new skill acquired, is a stepping stone. It reminds us of the challenges we’ve overcome and the growth we’ve experienced along the way. Celebrating milestones also provides a chance to express gratitude. Ending the Week with Gratitude and Appreciation 🌟 There's something so uplifting about ending the work week with a heart full of gratitude. As a professional, getting feedback and testimonials—especially from busy corporate leaders and consultants—is no small feat. That’s why I’m so grateful for the generous people who take the time to share their appreciation for the work I do. But last night, as I reflected on my day, I realized something even more profound: the little moments of gratitude from my children mean just as much. In our house, “last orders” don’t stop at 9 PM—they seem to start there! 😂 From whipping up pan-fried salmon with fusilli in salmon cream sauce for my daughter, to bolognese spaghetti for my son, to pancakes and eggs for my youngest… and yes, pizza for the encore! It was a busy night in my home kitchen. And just when I thought the day was over, we had our mandatory bedtime fun—a tickle game and a follow-me game that left us all laughing. As exhausting as it was, every single moment was worth it. My daughter’s hug and “thank you,” my youngest’s sweet smile, and the most mischievous of them all declaring, “You’re my perfect mom, I love you!” made it all so meaningful. This might ruffle some feathers but... working hard isn't always enough to get noticed and appreciated.   Many of us have been conditioned from childhood to believe that sharing our achievements is somehow 'showing off' or that talking about our successes might come across as bragging. We keep our heads down, put in long hours, take on extra projects, and hope someone notices.   But, if you've done something great, sharing it isn't bragging if it's true and if it's done in the right way. In fact, by not sharing, we might actually be doing ourselves and others a disservice. Here's why:   ⭐ It helps others see what's possible - your success could inspire someone else to try something similar ⭐ It creates learning opportunities - others might benefit from understanding how you achieved it ⭐ It sets a positive example - especially if you're a manager or leader, it encourages your team to also celebrate their wins ⭐ It builds connections - sharing success often opens doors to meaningful conversations and collaborations ⭐ It challenges the 'success in silence' mindset that can hold many of us back   I've seen this pattern a lot across the years - both personally and with friends and those I've worked with. We often diminish our achievements with phrases like "it was nothing really" or "I just got lucky" when actually there was real skill, effort and achievement involved.   Think about it this way - if a friend or colleague shared a similar achievement with you, would you think they were bragging? Or would you be genuinely happy for them and interested in learning more?   So, if you've achieved something meaningful this week, think about how you might share it.
