Our Institute successfully applied for the Scientific Patronage grant program, announced by the National Research, Development and Innovation Office from the National Research, Development and Innovation Fund. They submitted successful applications in several categories, including receiving funding for organizing two international conferences in Hungary and one for promoting scientific results in the food industry. As a result, in 2025, our University will launch a media campaign and a film series titled 'What are YOU eating today?' / 'How was it made?' / 'Food Mythbusters' to promote a transition to a health-conscious lifestyle and dispel food-related myths." #MATE, #ETTI, #foodscience,#National Research, Development and Innovation Office

How can little-used raw materials and side streams from food processing be used for food production? The Up4Health and ALEHOOP projects have done extensive work on this. We have worked intensively with our partners in ALEHOOP on the use of lupins and seaweed in plant-based meat and fish products.

🇪🇺 🌍#RawMaterialsWeek is in full swing this week! 🌟Kerstin Jorna Director-General Internal Market, Industey, Entrepreneurship and SMEs for European Commission opened the 11th High level conference on raw materials with an emphasizing : ➡️The importance of domestic capacity development and resilience. ➡️The transition pathway for generating predictability in decarbonizing EU industries. 🌟In a thought-provoking moment, Hildegard Bentele drew parallels to the reopening of the Notredame Cathredal to highlight the need for unity and coordination to address the critical raw materials requirements within the EU. 🌟In the panel discussion on European industry raw materials supply chain Inge Hofkens detialed: ➡️ The necessity for policy development to enable financial incentives. ➡️ Promotion of metal recycling, carbon leakage prevention, competitive energy prices, and an eased permit process. 🌟 Panel discussions on building competitiveness and resilience focused on: ➡️Energy prices ➡️Risk capital investments ➡️Supportive regulations ➡️Due diligence for value chain development in the EU 🌟 The day included endorsement for strategic roadmaps of collaboration between the EU with The Democratic Republic of the Congo and Australia for critical raw materials 🌟 The strategic projects in raw materials panel discussion was led by Joaquim Nunes de Almeida and @Joan Canton focusing on EU member country priotities and investment requirements. 🌟The first day of the conference ended with a powerful closing remark by Maroš Šefčovič 🌟During the coffee break, I had a chance to discuss with Milan Grohol regarding the ambition of EU for permanent magnets value chain projects and the aims for REMHub project. It was great to meet participants from REMHub conosortium partners ICAMCyL Foundation, BiotaTec - Next Gen BioMining Centre and University of Oulu along with other stakeholders during the breaks.

📣📅 Next week, the final consortium meeting of the CAFEIN - Cluster Action For Ecosystem Innovation Network project will take place in Bologna, Italy! 🔍 What's on the agenda? 📊 Analysis of the results achieved so far: We will analyze all the results achieved so far and determine what still needs to be refined. 📝 Final version of the document: we will agree on the final version of the Joint Action Plan and the 5-Year Programme, which will be submitted to the European Commission. 🤝 Involvement of agencies and clusters: we will discuss the formal involvement of National Funding Agencies and clusters in our Joint Action Plan and 5-Year Programme. This will include the formal signing of documents and the discussion of next steps, including future collaboration invitations. 📋 Periodic report: We will prepare a periodic report summarizing our activities and the results achieved to date. ✉️ Letter of intent: We will discuss the letter of intent for new National Funding Agencies and clusters that want to join our activities. 🚀 Next steps: During the meeting, we will set priorities for the coming years and discuss the next steps in the implementation of the five-year program.
