Yesterday, jose antonio arevalo alejandre, our Spanish Advocacy Manager, joined other key European #plastics industry players and local authorities at Plastics Europe España's "Editorial Breakfast" to discuss the importance of "Competitivity and Strategic Autonomy". Topics included Europe's #greentransition, the growing role of #recycling and #circularity, barriers to #competitiveness and what a future regulatory framework should look like. "INEOS Inovyn is committed to Europe's #decarbonisation goals. However, the competitiveness of our industry is declining due to unsustainable energy and raw material prices. As a result, #PVC resins and end products from outside Europe have grown significantly, providing materials that do not always meet the EU’s #environmental and #safety standards. Europe’s plastic industry needs a level playing field and we call on the EU to create mechanisms to address this and enable competitive energy and feedstock."
