This is the type of project that you dream of when you have been in the industry for a long time.

Works have commenced on site for a full refurbishment as well as ground, first and second floor extensions to a mid-terrace home in Stoke Newington. A host of issues discovered during the design and exploration stages meant that works have ended being more structurally rigorous than initially planned and a lot of the design decisions have been dictated by the site conditions. In this project more than most form follows function and a structural reason is present behind every design move or material. This Lake Winnipesaukee retreat was designed for a longtime client of Battle Architects. The home’s long, narrow layout was specifically crafted to maximize the stunning water views from every angle. Our client often mentioned he had numerous ideas, and it was our task to identify the best ones. Upon completion, he declared, “It is perfect! I wouldn’t change a thing.” Since then, we’ve collaborated on four more projects.
