Not convinced by Meditation? I get it! It took me a long time to understand why meditation was beneficial for me, and the best way for me to connect with it as a practice. I delivered a Meditation workshop to a group of NHS workers a while ago. With a new group like this it is important to me that I put people at ease - many of whom may have never tried meditation before. There are so many pre-conceived ideas of Yoga + Meditation and what they look like - I aim to de-bunk these straight away. No lotus position, no confusing language or ideas. I'm not sure what it says about me but I need things to be super simple to be able to take them on board. We discuss what meditation actually is, why it is worth exploring and how it can help us to increase our resources and capacity to deal with stress. I make sure I offer plenty of different techniques and methods to suit individual needs. Not everyone is comfortable in stillness, especially if you are in a high stress state. Meditation is much easier than it seems. In order to keep it simple and easy, you do need guidance from someone who has experience of teaching and a stable state of peace within. Much like any skill we learn, you go to an expert who has trained and perfected their own craft. I love teaching meditation and mindfulness to people. Some take to it immediately, experience instant peace and are delighted. Some take a bit longer to fully let go and let the experience come to them. Even those who struggle can get a fleeting or even longer experience of peace. Enough to motivate them to keep going. For those who struggle, I have tricks and tips to make it easier. Everyone who attends my classes experiences peace, a softening and relaxing. If they commit and keep coming to classes, they are often surprised at how much easier it becomes with practise. This course will provide you with a variety of meditation and mindfulness techniques including breath meditation, mantra meditation and mindfulness.
