Inline Group Inc.’s Post

Our team of volunteers, along with a group from Burns & McDonnell and Engineers In Action (EIA), just completed the construction of a 76m footbridge in the rural agricultural community of Tuyo Tuyo, Bolivia! Isolation caused by impassable rivers is a root source of poverty all over the world, and EIA is working tirelessly to change that. For over 150 days in a year, the Tuyo Tuyo river can flood dramatically, becoming difficult or impossible to cross. Children frequently miss class, and the pregnant and elderly may be unable to access much needed health care. The working population often cannot access their land in order to farm, or may see harvests rot before they can be transported to market, while workers are simultaneously unable to travel in search of other opportunities. This footbridge will provide safer and easier access for locals, especially during the rainy season, connecting families, schools, and essential services. A huge shoutout to our dedicated community members, masons, volunteers, and everyone involved in making this project a reality! Your hard work and determination are truly transforming lives. See the bridge progress in the photos below!
