The 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲 symbol in our new logo isn’t just a design choice; it’s the story of Freyia Labs and our journey ahead. 🌳 Our foundation is rooted in 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, and a 𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲. The tree captures our core vision, with each branch symbolising a new avenue of exploration in 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻-𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗹, 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱 & 𝗯𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲, and 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆. Every branch is connected, representing our commitment to transparency, health, and responsible environmental practices. 🌱 At Freyia Labs, we believe that 𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 holds incredible potential; not just for quality food but for sustainable living. By combining tradition with innovation, we aim to make the benefits of 𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗹𝗹, empowering more people to connect with this age-old practice in a modern way. A subtle nod to Freyia, the Norse goddess of love, beauty, and nature, is woven into the design, reminding us to harmonise tradition with progress, creating products that are as mindful as they are groundbreaking. We look forward to growing alongside our community, inspired by shared values and united in the journey toward a 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗿, 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺. 🌍✨ #FreyiaLabs #SustainableInnovation #FoodTech #FunctionalFoods #CleanLabel #NewLogo #NatureInspired #GrowthMindset #FermentationForAll Vasilis Joseph Greta Skemaite Raminta Butkute Tomo Shalakhyan Nesrin Hasan Demetris Skourides Tugberk Emirzade Alkis Nicolaides Styliani Petroudi Stalo Demosthenous Soti Christou Panis Pieri IDEA Innovation Center Startup Center powered by Microsoft Heroikka Cyprus Chamber of Commerce & Industry Ίδρυμα Έρευνας και Καινοτομίας/Research and Innovation Foundation CyprusInno SocialTech Lab Fire Alchemy by Freyia Labs Cyprus Computer Society - CCS CYENS Centre of Excellence The Cyprus Institute Enterprise Europe Network Cyprus EIT Food Women in Entrepreneurship EIT Food EIT Food Accelerator Network EIT Manufacturing EIT Jumpstarter

🌱 Get to know Future Forest Batch #3 — Hiscotech: Optimizing forest firefighting with an environmentally friendly retardant At the Future Forest Forum, promising startups pitched their ideas to a panel of investors, partners, and sponsors to secure a spot in our Future Forest Accelerator. HiscoTech is one of the six startups that made it into Batch #3—and here's why you should get to know them! HiscoTech is developing an environmentally friendly #retardant for #firefighting made from natural, inorganic substances. Their product is #biodegradable, non-toxic and sustainable, making it a suitable approach for preventive use in forest areas and for protecting infrastructures. In the past, several tests have already shown that it effectively stops fires and prevents reignition. 👉 Coincidentally, HiscoTech’s solution was put into practice for the first time just one day after their pitch at our Future Forest Forum, when their fire retardant helped support local firefighters during the #wildfire in the Harz mountains. Now, it's time to take things to the next level and keep the momentum going! Therefore, we are eager to support HiscoTech on their further journey in the upcoming months and to best prepare for the wildfire season 2025. We are happy that Caspar von Alvensleben from Rentenbank is supporting HicoTech as a main mentor on their journey. 👉 Further Information about HiscoTech via https://lnkd.in/ecgtKAZv Patric Scordialo Jens Kläber Angelo Scordialo Dr. Benjamin Kowalski Björn Kaminski Susanne Roennefarth Christoph Ameseder

We're aligning the agendas of key delegates from Italy and the US to finalize a calendar of coordinated B2B and G2G initiatives for 2024 and 2025. These will take place in both countries, with the goal of fostering deeper mutual understanding of the most innovative ecosystems on both sides of the Atlantic. The alignment of these initiatives is designed to encourage higher quality investments from the US to Italy, and cultivate more extensive strategic industrial partnerships and technological cooperation between the two nations. Some similarities we identified between Kansas City and regions in Italy: 🏢 Both KC and Campania are underestimated entrepreneurial powerhouses 🌾 KC and Emilia-Romagna share a strong agricultural base, and as a result are global leaders in animal health 🧫 Friuli-Venezia Giulia and KC are both focused on growing biomanufacturing ecosystems 🔬 Universities in KC and Sicily have similar research priorities 🥩 People in both Tuscany and KC enjoy a good steak. (Don't worry, we left the Tuscan reps with a bottle of KC BBQ sauce.) These efforts are all about strengthening transatlantic collaboration, fostering innovation, and facilitating high-quality investment flows - ultimately supporting economic growth and industrial development in both countries. Thank you to those who joined us: Missouri Partnership Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City, MO Kansas Department of Commerce Multistudio Ronawk Kansas State University

“We’re on a mission to help curb one of the planet’s most pressing wicked challenges. And we’re doing this by partnering with insects!” This is how SPAIA introduces themselves when asked about their vision. Founding members Tom Cox, Collette Wasielewski, and Brodie Allen Reid O'Sullivan, explain the big problem as follows: Insects are essential to healthy ecosystems, but recent studies suggest widespread declines linked to human activities like urbanization and agriculture. ➡ The good news? Insects recover quickly, making them powerful allies in biodiversity restoration and reliable indicators of ecosystem health improvements. SPAIA is a team in our Hardtech Innovation Accelerator program and they created an innovative data platform that integrates a smart insect monitor to track insect activity and measure environmental impact. Who is this platform for? “Our solution helps businesses and individuals to meet environmental goals, assists researchers in accessing diverse insect data, and empowers communities to validate business actions.” Engaging with MotionLab.Berlin was crucial for SPAIA in the program. “MotionLab.Berlin and its diverse community hold a special place in our hearts. The mix of engineers, makers, artists, and business minds creates a unique dynamic in the Berlin startup ecosystem. There's a certain magic in a space where people unite to create tangible solutions. The level of creative problem-solving and collaboration here is unmatched.” What were the team’s most helpful workshops in the program? Tayla Sheldrake’s rapid prototyping workshop, Georg’s financial modeling masterclass, and Daniel Shor’s recent session on hardware development. With this, a big thank you to all our program experts and mentors who constantly work with our startups and teach them powerful tools to grow! 🐝 If you are interested in a partnership with SPAIA or want to sign up on their website as a “citizen scientist” to assist in verifying insect sightings and classifications - check out their website or reach out to the team! 🔹Learn more about their solution, the team, learnings in the program, and next steps in our latest blog post - check the link in the comments section. 🔹If you want to meet SPAIA or the other startups from our current Hardtech Innovation program, come to our Demo Day, a big celebration on the 31st of May at MotionLab.Berlin! ➡️ Tickets are linked in the comments section. The Hardtech Innovation program is supported by funds from the European Union (European Social Fund) and the State of Berlin. #HardtechInnovation #MotionLabBerlin
