“InterAction stands in solidarity with the people of Syria and emphasizes the critical importance of centering Syrian voices and civil society during this pivotal period of transition. “The humanitarian needs across the country are immense, with nearly one million Syrians internally displaced since November 28 alone, and millions more enduring the devastating consequences of disrupted services and damaged infrastructure. Local Syrian organizations and civil society have been instrumental in providing life-saving assistance throughout the crisis, and their leadership must be supported and amplified." From Gaza to Sudan to Haiti to Ukraine, humanitarian workers face more lethal risks, operational challenges, and access constraints than ever before. According to the UN, 2023 was the deadliest year on record for humanitarian workers with 280 aid workers killed last year alone. 2024 is on track to be even worse. We are seeing a blatant disregard for 75 years of International Humanitarian Law that is eroding the foundation of our collective humanity. Today, on #WorldHumanitarianDay, we mourn and honor the brave individuals who continue their life-saving work in perilous conditions and make the ultimate sacrifice, and we demand action to protect aid workers, civilians, and civilian infrastructure under assault. It’s time for those in power to end impunity and #ActForHumanity.

Today is World Humanitarian Day and this year it is particularly somber. Last year was the deadliest year on record for humanitarians – over 280 killed – and 2024 is on track to be even worse as aid workers from Gaza to Sudan to Haiti to Ukraine face more lethal risks, operational challenges, and access constraints than ever before. We’re seeing a blatant disregard for 75 years of International Humanitarian Law that is eroding the foundation of our collective humanity. We’ve all witnessed the systematic blocking of aid and attacks on civilian infrastructure including healthcare centers, aid convoys, ambulances, schools, and shelters. The world has reached a perilous tipping point where the safe delivery of humanitarian aid is no longer guaranteed and civilians most in need are the ones who suffer. It’s time for those in power to end impunity and act for humanity. #WHD #ActforHumanity

OUR government is helping Israel commit genocide with OUR tax dollars. According to our own U.S. military, Israel has killed OVER 25,000 WOMEN & CHILDREN in the past 5 months & they are at least 65% of: https://lnkd.in/gtQtw9zc Can you imagine how big a pile of 25,000 dead women & children would be? And it’s getting bigger every day. Israel has also orphaned over 30,000 children, & has demolished the homes of around 1 million children, making them homeless during winter. And Israel is still blocking aid to these children, KILLING THEM WITH STARVATION, DEHYDRATION, & DISEASE, in addition to U.S. supplied bombs. Israeli & Jewish-American sources: 1) https://lnkd.in/gSZVTaDY, 2) https://lnkd.in/gYpkU3ah, 3) https://lnkd.in/gErBF5hY, 4) https://lnkd.in/gavyg7E9, 5) https://lnkd.in/gWscBWrC PLEASE WRITE & CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES & the White House to demand they stop helping Israel kill & starve children, commit war crimes, & maintain its brutal & racist apartheid, with our tax dollars & U.N. veto protection. To understand the Israel-Palestine conflict, people need to put themselves in the shoes of a Palestinian refugee (most of the people in Gaza). What would you do if someone stole your house & livelihood, killed some of your family, & left the rest of you with nothing, to live in the squalor of a refugee camp? That is what Israel did to over 750,000 Palestinians in 1948, over 300,000 in 1967, over 250,000 since 1967, & MORE EVERY YEAR – simply because they are not Jewish. Most of the families in Gaza owned homes & farms where Israeli cities & towns now stand, which Israel literally stole from them. Most even still have their front door keys. Israeli Sources: 1) https://lnkd.in/geiy3_5s, 2) https://lnkd.in/gBV8ipGy, 3) https://lnkd.in/g6726cMj And how can anyone claim that this conflict started on Oct 7th when between 2000 & Oct 2023, Israeli soldiers & settlers killed nearly 2300 Palestinian children, including 43 children during the 9 months just before Oct 7th (names & details on BTselem.org). Israel has also imposed a brutal 57 year occupation/apartheid on Palestinians, & a brutal blockade of Gaza since 2005 - both illegal under international law, immoral, & ongoing acts of war. Israeli Sources: 1) https://lnkd.in/gSYf7exV, 2) https://lnkd.in/gvXiS65k, 3) https://lnkd.in/g2rANpCA, 4) https://lnkd.in/gaZSz8PX When Palestinians have tried to protest peacefully, Israel shoots them in the knees, kills, or at least imprison & beat them. If you don't believe it, read this 2020 Haaretz article titled: “42 Knees in One Day: Israeli Snipers Open Up About Shooting Gaza Protesters”: https://lnkd.in/g4VqQRzs And if you still believe the lie that Israel has offered Palestinians many generous peace deals that they keep rejecting, read this article: https://lnkd.in/g2_EV6dV And here is U. of Chicago Prof. John Mearsheimer explaining why our government does whatever #Israel wants against our national interests:: https://lnkd.in/gQrBHwR7

Pope Francis called for Israel and Hamas to reach an agreement for “an immediate ceasefire in Gaza” on Sunday, repeating “Enough!” and “Stop!” from the window of the apostolic palace. Delivering his Angelus address to crowds in St Peter’s Square on 3 March, the Pope made an emotional plea for a deal that would both free the Israeli hostages immediately and grant humanitarian aid to civilians in Gaza. #ceasefire #ceasefirenow #Peace #Pax

On the last few months in Ukraine, I've gained a deep understanding of the situation on the ground. Among the various challenges faced by civilians caught in the conflict, one group particularly stands out: the elderly men and women living near the frontlines. The hardships they endure are immense, not only due to the immediate dangers but also because of the significant barriers they face in accessing essential services and understanding the humanitarian aid mechanisms available to them. This revelation highlights an urgent need for tailored support and outreach to ensure our most vulnerable are not left behind. Let's discuss ways to bridge this gap and provide the necessary assistance effectively. #Ukraine #HumanitarianAid #ElderlySupport"

The US has made it clear it no longer trusts Israel’s actions in Gaza. The only way to get humanitarian aid in is with an immediate ceasefire, writes Associate Fellow Nomi Bar-Yaacov for The Independent. https://lnkd.in/esqQD82u

In a recent report, CNN has documented an Israeli airstrike on a hospital complex in Gaza. What is unfolding in Gaza, especially in the northern region, is a humanitarian catastrophe that many are describing as an active genocide, witnessed by the entire world. I urge the free people of the world to raise their voices. Call on your governments, parliaments, and decision-makers to demand an immediate ceasefire and allow for the entry of humanitarian aid to Gaza. Let us stand together for peace and humanity. #Gaza #CeasefireNow #HumanRights #HumanitarianAid
