The numbers are clear! Together we can make big shifts in how we look after nature. Where do you sit on this graph? At what level do you act for nature? The bars in the graph have the shape of a stairway which seems to represent the 'ease' of that level of action. Have you considered what could happen if we all take the next step?? #nature #conservation #biodiversity #climate #positivechange
What are your ideas for the best actions to take in your garden to help nature? Let's also include nature strips (Gayle Dallaston, I think you will have excellent suggestions!). People love nature (and their yards) and managing their pets and gardens for nature is one of the top ways that people say they act for nature, according to our new national research conducted with Monash University. ☝️THREE INSIGHTS FOR ENGAGING PEOPLE IN LANDSCAPE RESTORATION☝️ Landscapes are shaped by the people living there. These stakeholders are united by their connection to place - but they have different worldviews and agendas; their competing interests sometimes lead to conflict. Putting stakeholder engagement at the heart of landscape restoration is critical to its long-term success. 🌳 Here are three insights mainly drawn from Commonland and partners' experiences with the AlVelAl landscape restoration initiative in Southern Spain: 1. Participatory approaches are key to the long-term success of landscape restoration, but not enough attention is given to them. 2. Social schemes designed to support inclusive stakeholder engagement can cultivate inspiration, trust and hope. 3. Collective agency and inspiration are essential for activating and sustaining long-term landscape restoration. What to learn more about engaging people for landscape restoration? 🙌 🔗Head to our blog: https://lnkd.in/epDzQQKM
