Moments that matter.✨ A Country Time Lemonade manufacturing incident marked the inception of IDC's, now Greenfield Solutions - IFPC's sister company, recycling business, showcasing a commitment to environmental responsibility. By repurposing 300 truckloads of lemonade mix into valuable sweeteners for animal feed, IDC pioneered the concept of utilizing unused food products. This initiative led to the establishment of Sugar Tree and the implementation of recycling practices at IDC's Dillon plant in Iowa. Over the years, Greenfield Solutions proactive recycling efforts have repurposed millions of pounds of food byproducts annually, totaling five billion pounds by the company's 50th anniversary. This commitment not only benefits businesses but also contributes to community well-being and environmental sustainability, reflecting Greenfield Solutions' core values and fostering a sense of pride. Follow along as we continue to share significant milestones and other fun facts that shaped IFPC into the company we are today in our Moments that Matter social media series. 😁 #Momentsthatmatter #CompanyHistory #IFPCfacts #Ingredients #IFPC

💡 Ever processed beetroots in your kitchen? You know the scene – bright red stains everywhere. Now imagine that on a food factory scale! 💧 That's the challenge Latvian salad and juice producer SIA Dimdini faced – litres of sugar-rich, bright red wastewater from beetroot processing. This kind of waste is not only tough to treat but also costly 💸 - or used to be. Together with Econet, Dimdini piloted a game-changing solution. 🚀 We provided a compact, containerised treatment plant that combined biological treatment with electrocoagulation – no chemicals and new buildings needed! This process meets local wastewater standards and significantly cuts wastewater treatment costs. 📉 As Rolands Prindulis, Technical Manager at Dimdini, said: "This was a groundbreaking pilot project. We expect substantial cost savings in the future. These guys know what they’re doing!" Proud to deliver sustainable and cost-efficient solutions that make a real impact. 🌍💧 #Wastewatertreatment #Foodfactory #Sustainability #Innovation #Costefficiency #Chemicalfree

#upcycling Some interesting videos:) "Waste Streams For Upcycling Solutions Include: Imperfect produce from farms, such as oranges and watermelons Overproduction of produce from farms, such as spinach Harvest byproducts, such as cacao pulp, cacao juice and cascara Side streams from processing facilities, such as wastewater from the blanching of mushrooms prior to canning Pomace (the pulp and residue remaining after produce has been crushed for juice extraction), such as that of blueberries or cranberries " https://lnkd.in/eZ7kfdTs

Excellent to see government and local body representatives engaging with the social, economic and environmental opportunities of upcycling food waste. Innovation and technology like that being used @foodbowl is a key enabler in fighting food waste and realising new revenue streams for businesses. We are working with our Kai Commitment signatories to explore these kind of opportunities within their operations and across their supply chain as part of their food waste action plans. #fightingfoodwaste #kaicommitment #foodwasteinnovation
We were delighted to welcome Minister Andrew Bayly (MP for Port Waikato, Minister of Commerce & Consumer Affairs, Minister for Small Business & Manufacturing), accompanied by the Franklin Local Board/Auckland Council and representatives from MBIE, to the FoodBowl. It provided us with a valuable opportunity to showcase the potential of upcycling waste vegetables and fruits, with the Ingetecsa Spiral Flash Dryer playing a pivotal role in this innovative concept.

Did you know that most waste in the meat industry is produced during the slaughtering process? This process is characterized by a high volume of unavoidable product-specific waste. Waste from abattoirs has the potential for upcycling and conversion into useful by-products limiting the environmental impact. Non-utilization or under-utilization of by-products leads not only to reduced profitability but also to the added and increasing costs of disposal. Sinowatek offers the Pulse Combustion Dryer for drying blood waste into a powder. The fresh whole blood is taken directly from the abattoir as wet feed with up to 16% total solids (TS). When dried in the pulse combustion chamber, the water content of the blood is changed into super-heated steam, leaving behind a very dry, fine powder with sphere-shaped, smooth-surfaced particles. The powder contains a moisture level of approximately 2%. No denaturing of proteins takes place during the drying process, leaving the blood powder ready to be utilized in any application within the circular economy. Curious to learn more about Pulse Combustion Drying and how it can benefit your operations? Visit our website for more details! And if you're interested in exploring how Sinowatek can assist with an assessment or consultation, don't hesitate to reach out. www.sinowatek.technology Together, let's make a positive impact on the meat industry and the environment! #SustainableSolutions #WasteManagement #CircularEconomy #Innovation #MeatIndustry #Abattoirwaste #Abattoirs #Abattoirwetwaste #slaughterhouses #pulsecombustiondrying #fooddrying #meatprocessing #meat #meatindustry #butchery #foodmanufacturing #poultry #pork #bloodmeal #foodpowder #Southafrica

If you work in the food production sector, you are likely spinning a lot of plates - for example, the maintenance and replacement costs of timber vegetable growing boxes 🍏 We recently supplied a client who was seeking an environmentally sound solution to this problem. We created lidless, stackable, long-life, robust, easy-to-clean, cases – and at an affordable price. The cases are hygienic and resistant to infestation, algae and moss growth. In an environment that is often required to be kept damp, our Smartawood™ is rot-free, needs no up-keep, and is a carbon-negative solution ♻️ https://lnkd.in/enhDrNMx #Recycling #Lumber #RecycledPlastic #SustainableMaterials #SmartaWood #CultivationWeek

"Be the change you want to see in this world" - Gandhi We had compostable seals on our 1L bottles since day dot of launching them - so you can just pop them in the food bin, and know they're not contributing to the 8 MILLION tonnes of plastic waste per year. Thing is, they needed high heat to apply in our bottling room - with high energy needs; then at the end of the day they could take months to compost if they weren't handled correctly. Our new seals are different - a cutting edge technology that means they 'self-seal' and don't need lots of energy to fit and even better, they begin decomposing up to 50% faster than the old seals. Also, because they're now branded, we don't need to have our glass bottles printed on machines needing massive amounts of energy - another HUGE energy and carbon cost removed; and a win for more glass bottles being reused again, and again, and again, and again, and again.
SEAL OF APPROVAL! 💚🥛 You loved our compostable seals on our semi-skimmed milk, so we’re moo-ving forward! 🐄 Now, our 1-litre whole milk bottles proudly wear the same game-changing seals—completely plant-based, and best of all, they don’t need heat to seal! 🙌 That means we’re saving energy while giving you the freshest, creamiest milk from the organic farms of Southwest Scotland We’ve been single use plastic-free since 2019, but we’re always working to be greener. These seals just go straight into your food bin, helping the planet one bottle at a time. 🌍✨ Got questions? Send us a Moo-sage! We're always up for a chat. 💬🌿 #MossgielFarm #EcoFriendly #SustainableDairy #PlasticFree #Mootivated
