Proud Moment for Pakistan on the Global AI Stage! Ammar Jaffri, President of the Pakistan Information Security Association (PISA), represented Pakistan at the inaugural meeting of the Artificial Intelligence Professional Committee of the World Internet Conference on November 20 in Wuzhen, Zhejiang. During the event, he shared his valuable insights and was interviewed by international journalists on the global impact of this initiative. He emphasized that the establishment of this committee comes at a critical time when artificial intelligence is leading a new wave of technological revolution. While AI is transforming society at an unprecedented pace, it also brings challenges—particularly in ethics and sustainable development. Ammar Jaffri highlighted the importance of international cooperation to ensure AI benefits everyone. He also acknowledged China's significant contributions to developing countries through initiatives like the Belt and Road Initiative and BRICS, which promote global progress and inclusivity. This moment marks another proud step for Pakistan in the global conversation on innovation and collaboration! #ArtificialIntelligence #GlobalCooperation #PISA #WorldInternetConference #SustainableDevelopment #Innovation

This is great news. It provides a bit of comfort to know the potential dangers from the rapid development and advancement of AI are being discussed. As an IT professional who leverages AI tools on a daily basis, it is scary what can be achieved with little effort, especially in the area of Cybersecurity. With great power comes great responsibility. I look forward to the publication as this is a shared concern.

The AI battle in INDIA :: - India first passed its own law to fight cyber threat back in 2000. The famous Information Technology Act 2000 (IT ACT). Which safegaurded 5 million internet users back then. - Today the number is 751 million (approx) internet users, daily transforming their lifestyle towards a better and easier digital life. - In March 2023, Mr. Rajeev Chandrasekhar, India’s Minister of State for the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY) announced the proposed Digital India Act (DIA) to replace the Information Technology Act (IT Act), which was enacted in 2000. - Inspired by EU AI Act of 2024, Digital India Act can reduce user harm and ambiguity in user rights, security: women and children safety: organised information wars: unfair trade pratices: legal recognition of electronic records, transactions and electronic signatures over the electronic medium. - Developing internet trust and safety, with the growth of open internet, raises the debate that the current IT ACT 2000 might be outdated and a much needed change is required. Many might feel it is too late to bring in new reforms for the new digital India. In one of largest democratic country where every aspect of every religion is taken into consideration a debate on any new law should take its time before it is made public. A very good example of this is DPDB Act 2023 which came with numerous drawbacks. #DigitalIndia #AI #DIA #AIACT #ITACT2000
