Pratyush Kumar Panda this insightful post of yours highlights the untapped potential in corporate-NGO partnerships. Limiting these collaborations to financial support misses out on creating a significant, lasting impact. The call for a partnership-driven approach, emphasizing shared knowledge, active listening, and mutual growth, is vital. At Living My Promise, the emphasis on humility and open-mindedness by philanthropists stands out, showing how true partnerships can flourish. By addressing key skills like planning, networking, and capacity building, corporations can transform CSR from mere donations to meaningful, sustainable impact. Let's aim for dynamic, engaged collaborations that leverage the best of both worlds for greater societal good. Keep at it my friend.

Why #Corporate, #NGOs (#NonGovernmentalOrganizations) partnerships are getting limited to only #financial supports? Such partnerships have many dimensions to have multiplier impact. #Donor driven approach is an easier way than #partnership driven. Later demands #courage to treat #civilsocietyorganisations / NGOs as partners because it requires best of the know-how, hand holding, active listening, more incubation time and equal stake at #community to witness failures if any. In absence of above, most of the time CSR starts behaving like a typical #donor to NGOs. At Living My Promise, I have observed, best of the #philanthropist are extremely humble & open to ideas even while sharing their #wealth with NGOs. In addition, they share their knowledge, wisdom and networks to help ngo grow. Converting an #csrdonation into #csrpartnership demands time, field visit, dynamic planning and constant handholding for a greater good of the society. Most of the time csr mismanages the partnership due to lake of learnings, know-how, abrupt project decisions and poor network. This is what is resulting into poor impact at ground zero and increase in #reputationalrisk of the #corporates. Here are some of the major missing skills with CSR: 1- Planning based on #TheoryofChange 2- Finding out #CoreProblem based on Cause & Effect relationship 3- Ability to finalise #OVI (Objectively verifiable indicator 4- Process documentation skills for replication 5- Reading, writing & Networking to connect dots for NGOs However, Corporates can play a significant role with NGOs in various ways as mentioned below. 1. #FinancialSupport: Corporates can provide funding to NGOs for specific projects, supporting their social & environmental initiatives. 2. #StrategicPartnerships: Partnerships between corporates & NGOs can leverage each other's strengths, expertise & networks to achieve common goals. 3. #CapacityBuilding: Corporates can offer training, mentorship, and capacity-building programs to enhance NGOs' skills and capabilities. 4. #ResourceSharing: Corporates can share their resources, such as #technology, #expertise, and #infrastructure, with NGOs to amplify their #impact. 5. #NetworkingOpportunities: Corporates can connect NGOs with their network, opening doors to new partnerships, funding opportunities, and access to influencers. 6. #EmployeeEngagement: Corporates can encourage employee volunteering, skill-based volunteering, and fundraising campaigns to support NGOs. 7. #ImpactInvesting: Corporates can invest in NGOs through impact investing, seeking social returns. 8. #Advocacy and #Awareness:Corporates can amplify NGOs' voices, raising awareness about #social & #environmental issues and advocating for policy changes. Secondly bridging the gap between Govt & NGOs. By supporting NGOs, corporates can demonstrate their commitment to social responsibility, enhance their #brand #reputation, contribute to a +ve #social and #environmental impact. We're delighted to see national coverage of Rethink Ireland's amazing journey to becoming a €109 million fund for social innovation in The Irish Times today. 🌟 Since 2016, Rethink Ireland has worked in partnership with companies, trusts, foundations, families, individuals and successive governments to create funds tackling key issues in Ireland such as inequality, educational disadvantage, health, scaling social enterprise and advancing the green transition. In that time, we've impacted over one million people, created 998 jobs and helped over 3,309 people into employment. 🙏 ✨ The article also features an interview with one of our key donors in the equality space, Bank of America and its Chief Operating Officer Ursula Mapley discussing our Mná na hÉireann funds in partnership with the Department of Rural and Community Development, as well as Aoibheann O'Brien from FoodCloud, one of our biggest awardee success stories to date. As our CEO Deirdre Mortell notes in the article, part of the strength of the Rethink Ireland model is being able to clearly define the social impact of our awardees and offering a package of business supports that go far beyond financial aid and help organisations to scale within Ireland. "I think we’ve demonstrated to the world that there is an ability to raise significant philanthropy in Ireland from both companies and wealthy families and individuals, when government gets behind it and backs it,” she tells business and tech journalist Ciara O'Brien. "So we’re looking at longer and larger gifts in order to make, where possible, transformative impact, in terms of changing lives and also scaling up. We see ourselves as an entrepreneurial organisation that is backing innovative solutions to critical social issues." #OneMillionStrong #Philanthropy #SocialImpact https://lnkd.in/eP2fTzBW

In the world of Not-For-Profit #NFP organisations in Australia, the landscape is constantly evolving. Traditional fundraising methods, grants, and donations continue to play a pivotal role in sustaining these organisations' vital missions. However, there is a growing recognition of the potential for NFPs to diversify their revenue streams and increase their impact by embracing #socialenterprise ventures.

Really positive sign that funders are moving in this direction. The same benefits of shared learning and greater impact can be realised by organisations (NGOS, social impact businesses etc) doing the same! https://lnkd.in/eahN3V42

What a way to kick-off Philanthropy Australia conference. Phenomenal insights on #corporategiving from these brilliant speakers! 💥 A culture of philanthropy is: good for community, good for customers, good for business 💥 Workplace giving extends well beyond just a 2 hour planning session - it’s a long term game ( just ask Jane! )…. And it’s so much more than a single survey 💥 Real and honest relationships with your staff, with your customers, with your funding partners is a key ingredient for success - it’s all about considered stakeholder management 💥 Actively educate and up-skill your whole ecosystem to elevate and grow workplace giving 💥 Share the stories of impact and giving - it’s much more than a $ exchange, and enhances engagement and upskilling of employees 💥 You can’t pose your big corporate perspectives on your community partners - think about what resources each party has, how can you leverage further resources, and break down the inherent imbalances of philanthropy and make untied, unrestricted, multi-year funding through reasonable and considered reporting requirements. 🌎 Darrell W. - you have many things to be proud of as to where and what Intrepid Travel is doing to create #impact around the globe. There is so much that #Australians can learn from you and your organisations about how we can support our global community. You’ve also found an absolute gem in Biheng Zhang too 💎 Thank you to all the speakers involved: ⭐️ Anna Le Masurier, ANZ Regional Head, Macquarie Group Foundation ⭐️ Jane Calvert , Head of Community & Foundations, Westpac ⭐️ Biheng Zhang , General Manager, Intrepid Travel Foundation ⭐️ Nikki Anstis, Head of Advocacy & Engagement, Workplace Giving Australia 🌟 Moderated by Amy Lyden, CEO, Westpac Foundation #PAConference #PhilanthropyAustralia #PAConf2024 #impact #foundation #giving
