Namibia improves tourism development Sub-Saharan Africa has shown the biggest improvement in the development of the travel and tourism sector since 2019, while Namibia’s overall performance has also improved significantly. According to the World Economic Forum’s Travel and Tourism Development Index, Namibia now ranks 95th among 119 countries, improving by eight places since 2019, with an overall score of 3.45. Egypt’s tourism sector revenues saw a 5% increase to $6.6 billion in the first half of 2024 from $6.3 billion during the first half of 2023. The latest data from the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities reveals that Egypt welcomed 7.069 million tourists between January and June 2024, exceeding its previous record-high of 7.062 million during the same period last year. As #SaudiArabia targets five million Chinese #tourists by 2030, Almosafer (part of Seera Group) plans to help the country tap into one of the world’s largest tourist markets through customized itineraries, targeted marketing, and strategic partnerships. #China is the largest source of outbound tourists globally, home to over 400 million individuals with substantial disposable income. According to Skift reporting, Chinese travelers took 155 million trips abroad in 2019, spending nearly $255 billion — 14 percent of global tourism revenue.
