Extremely delighted to travel this journey together. Throughout my professional career have handled health and livelihoods as two sectors. Together they make much more sense. Happy to part of the #whola alliance to imapact 1 million lives. Women's health and livelihood are intricately linked aspects of overall well-being. Ensuring access to quality healthcare services, including reproductive health services, is crucial for women to lead healthy lives. Additionally, promoting economic opportunities, equal access to education, and empowerment initiatives can enhance women's livelihoods, contributing to their overall health and socio-economic well-being. Addressing gender disparities in #healthcare access, income generation, and decision-making roles is essential for achieving #gender #equality and promoting the #health and #livelihoods of women worldwide.
Thank you Dr. Megha Phansalkar, for being such an integral part of the launch and empowering women with essential health knowledge. Generations of women have lived through women’s healthcare being ‘demeaning, discriminatory, judgmental and of poor quality’. Being made to feel ‘dirty, shameful, unequal, neurotic, and guilty’ when they sought help for their very personal health issues, is in the intergenerational memory of many women. Progress has been made but so much still needs to be done to ensure that all women can access respectful, evidence-based, non-judgmental healthcare, and gender equitable socio-economic opportunities. Gender is at the heart of all health and disease pathways, so gender needs to be considered in all health promotion, prevention, and healthcare. cc: Coalition for Women's Health in Africa (COWHA) | Africa Women Summit

Over time, the lack of access to essential services will significantly impact regional areas. Check out the stats shared by our CEO today and learn more about the challenges and opportunities for regional women in the 'What RRR Women Want Survey Report.' https://lnkd.in/gMSF9t3M
The lack of access to essential services places RRR people at risk of increased social isolation, health and safety issues. This impacts regional liveability, thus increasing the risk of declining regional populations which in turn impacts regional economic viability. Even though most RRR women indicated a desire to remain living in the regions, a lack of access to healthcare and other services will over time impact decision making. To learn more about the barriers and opportunities for RRR women, please read 'What RRR Women Want Survey Report' access at https://lnkd.in/g3w9hca5
