How to re-recruit your employees and keep them engaged 💥 Did you know that 50% of employees are open to new opportunities—even if they’re happy in their current roles? Employee engagement doesn’t stop once someone is hired. In fact, re-recruiting your own team is essential to maintaining motivation, loyalty, and long-term retention. Here’s how you can re-recruit your employees and keep them engaged: 1. Regular Check-Ins It’s not enough to wait for annual reviews. Regular one-on-one check-ins show employees that you care about their development, listen to their needs, and value their feedback. 2. Provide Growth Opportunities Top talent doesn’t want to stagnate. Offer training programs, mentorship, and clear career paths. Employees who see room for growth are more likely to stay engaged and committed. 3. Recognize and Reward Acknowledge accomplishments, both big and small. Whether it’s a public shoutout or a performance-based bonus, recognition fuels motivation and strengthens loyalty. 4. Foster a Strong Company Culture Employees who feel connected to your mission and values are less likely to leave. Build a positive culture where employees feel included, supported, and aligned with the company’s goals. 5. Offer Flexibility Work-life balance is key to retention. Allow flexibility in work schedules and remote work options to accommodate personal needs and improve overall satisfaction. Re-recruiting is an ongoing process. It’s about creating an environment where employees feel valued, challenged, and inspired every day. How are you keeping your employees engaged and committed to your mission? My Monday number is 80%. And it is not a good number. It is about employee engagement. And it shows it is further declining. A recent report by Lattice, a people management software company, paints a concerning picture of employee engagement in organizations. Their data shows a significant drop in employee morale, with potential explanations including workload, skill development, and leadership changes. Key Findings from the Lattice Survey Employee Net Promoter Score (eNPS) Heads Down: This metric, indicating how likely employees are to recommend their company as a great workplace, fell from 33.33 in 2022 to 24.8 in 2023 – a drop of almost 9 points. Engagement Scores Plummet Across the Board: Survey responses related to various aspects of employee satisfaction, including hybrid work experiences, company values, growth opportunities, and trust in leadership, all saw significant decreases compared to 2022. Manager Workload on the Rise: The average number of direct reports per manager has increased by nearly 23% since 2020. This suggests managers might be stretched thin, impacting their ability to effectively engage and support their teams. Managerial Revolving Door: The number of employees experiencing manager changes has doubled since 2020. Frequent changes can be disruptive, leading to a lack of direction and clarity for employees. Many employees seem to feel their organization is in a bad place. Yet, do employers even care? I don't get that sense. Do you? ----- I am Shelley, a recruiter turned career coach. What does Gallup tell us every year about employee engagement? It comes down to managers 🫵🏻. “If a manager has poor communication or managerial skills, they’re not able to communicate effectively to employees, oversee projects, or find opportunities for their employees to grow and advance. Without these skills, they can’t inspire engagement or longevity in their teams.” Check out my article with SmallBizClub for strategies to support your managers. https://lnkd.in/gZrJxyii #managertraining #managerdevelopment #managerbootcamp
