We have destroyed half of living biomass since we started agriculture and this has accelerated dramatically since the explosion of our numbers and our quest for wealth. Did you know that an area the size of China was deforested since 1880? It is the starting point from which we measure global warming and guess what, most of that temperature increase, attributed to CO2 is actually caused by the damaged cooling capacity of those forests. In 2015, 195 countries adopted a legally binding treaty to limit global warming. These commitments require green transitions - shifting towards more environmentally sustainable economic growth. 80 percent of global business leaders believe that #greenskills will be the most important driver of the green transition. Currently, around 140 countries have set a net-zero target for carbon emissions. Together these commitments cover about 88 percent of global emissions.
