It’s Day 2 of ACED’s Evidence Policy Action Forum! After an excellent first day of collaboration, we’re reconvening our partners to dive deeper into strategies and lessons gathered from across our network to continue enhancing evidence ecosystems in francophone Africa. This year's theme is titled "Effective Delivery of Innovative Science and Technology Solutions to Reinforce the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Agenda 2063, and to Eradicate Poverty in Africa." The forum is a pre-event preceding the 10th Session of the Africa Regional Forum on Sustainable Development (ARFSD-10), which will be held from April 17th to April 25th in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.  The overall objective of the forum is to conduct the regional follow-up and review of progress made, in order to identify potential mechanisms and measures that countries can deploy to scale up actions, facilitate peer learning, and advance transformative solutions to accelerate the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals and the goals of Agenda 2063 #Innovation #Science #TechnologySolutions #Technology #Agenda2030 #Agenda2063

Excited to share insights from my presentation at the 11th African Evaluation Association in Kigali, Rwanda this March. My presentation, titled "Cyclone Idai's Evaluation Odyssey:Technology and Participatory Approaches Intersect," delves into a critical shift in evaluation methodologies amidst evolving contexts. In the wake of Cyclone Idai, conventional #evaluationmethods proved insufficient, prompting a paradigm shift towards #innovativemethodologies. This presentation underscores the pressing need for evaluators to adapt and refine their approaches, particularly in disaster contexts. By merging technology and participatory approaches, we're navigating new avenues for effective evaluation. This fusion not only enhances the accuracy and depth of our assessments but also fosters greater community engagement and empowerment. I'm passionate about advancing evaluation practices to better serve communities in times of crisis. 📣 Save the Date: Evidence for Development (Evi4Dev) Conference – Nairobi, May 2025 Theme: Optimising the Role of Data, Evidence, and Innovations in Africa’s Efforts to Create Wealth, Empower Citizens, and Foster Responsive and Inclusive Governance With latest progress reports by the African Union (AU) and United Nations (UN) noting we are off track in meeting regional and global targets of development agendas, now is the time to centre research, data, and innovations to accelerate progress. The #Evi4Dev Conference brings together government officials, researchers, civil society practitioners, private sector representatives, and the media to deliberate on the status of science, technology and innovation (STI) and evidence-informed policymaking (EIP) in Africa, and how these can support in the implementation of the AU Agenda 2063 and the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
