🔴WATER🔴Water and Sanitation Minister Pemmy Majodina officially handed over the newly completed Klipplaat Water Treatment Works in the Eastern Cape over the weekend, marking a significant milestone in improving access to clean and safe drinking water for residents. Are Public Private Partnerships the solution to water services delivery and water infrastructure development in South Africa? The preliminary research i have conducted shows this is indeed the direction that the country should take in order to arrest the water sector challenges. Not too late for #WorldToiletDay 🚽 USAID supported the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) - Philippines, in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources and the Department of Health (Philippines), to develop a compendium of efforts of government agencies, local government units, water service providers, the private sector, civil society, and development partners in addressing the critical need for accessible and sustainable #sanitation services in the country. The first edition features USAID Safe Water’s experience of its innovative financing scheme for household sanitation called Output-Based Aid and Blended Finance in Cauayan, Sagay City, and Alabel. It also spotlights the USAID-supported community-wide septage management we helped set up in Alabel and Glan.
