Have you heard? 👂 Wendy's is set to experiment with Uber-like price surging—which they are calling “dynamic pricing”—in their US locations in 2025. These real-time price adjustments based on demand will be implemented in new digital menu boards. Announced earlier this year, the change aligns with the company's effort to "innovate within the fast-food industry by utilizing technology for menu flexibility, including AI-enabled changes and suggestive selling." While this has grown to be something we expect from ticket, transportation, and airline services, how do you feel about these AI-driven changes in other industries like food and beverage? Read more about it in this IT World Canada (ITWC) article and let us know in the comments 👉 https://lnkd.in/gVK44DWH #Wendys #FinTech #TheFutureOfAI

I would agree with J. Jordan Thaeler - It's not about dynamic #pricing, it's about DYNAMIC DISCOUNTING! 📉 🙃 The hype about #dynamicpricing, #smartpricing , #surgepricing, even [angel] pricing, etc... does not mean anything to #SMB restaurants, they don't get it, but what they do get is DYNAMIC DISCOUNTING. 🔥 Local restaurants[owners] are consumer sensitive and many customers know them by first name, so is the $.25- $.50 cents worth the risk of any negative backlash? 🔥 What is worth the risk [and will be welcomed by SMB's] is the dynamic discounting model. All restaurants (small/large) have slow hours of operation, sales are down, but the overhead stays the same [early morning, before lunch, daytime, late night, etc.] They love to offer discounts[sometimes as much as 70% - why do you think #TooGoodTooGo is thriving?], but they don’t know how. Being able to offer a discounts [$ vs %], specials, BOGO on the fly - will make an impact. 👍 The system should easily recognize (based on the sales/other data) and lower the price by a %, $ or even 35%-50% and let the customers know about it, through automated messaging. This will generate additional sales [and cash flow] to balance off the fixed [high operational] costs - and that's what SMB's get and need as it is “profit” for them (vs loss due to the fixed costs) Dynamic pricing will probably work for the big chains, but for small and local SMB's - then need cash flow, not virtual surge that can scare off customers. Let everyone else offer #dynamic, #smart and #intelligent pricing and we will offer dynamic discounting – because we know what local restaurants and pizzerias need [we operate restaurants]. 🍕 PizzaBox - made for local pizza heroes! #pizza #localpizzerias #delivery #zerocommission #pos #pizzamarketing RestoGPT AI Vincent Chaglasyan Andrew Simmons Shawn P. The "chicken" QSR space continues to out perform the broader QSR industry. The big players continue to open new units while also seeing visit per unit growth. Newer, smaller players are making waves, like Pollo Campero! We regularly hear from our customers that they want to colocate with specific brands. Not only can Placer.ai run site selection analysis that factors in colocation, our visit and sales benchmarking capabilities highlight how successful or not that unit/brand is doing within it's chain, the category and sub-market. Just because one of your desired co-tenant brands is near a site doesn't mean it's a successful, healthy unit. How would you know if not for Placer.ai??? Chicken Chains Charge Ahead in 2025

Great article by Danny Klein + QSR - amazing data & insights! "Despite all the digital growth, the most prevalent ordering method remained in person or over the phone (about 44 percent for takeout, down from 49 percent last survey). It was 36 percent for delivery, a 1 percentage point slide from the prior survey. Direct ordering through a restaurant’s website or app followed at 33 percent for takeout, climbing from 32 percent, and 31 percent for delivery, rising from 27 percent." Somewhat surprising to see in person ordering as the top method used by consumers. We're seeing increased demand for self-service kiosks Tillster. As in-person ordering continues to grow, forward-thinking brands are getting ahead of this trend by exploring kiosks as an option for their stores. For QSR's and fast food chains, kiosks may become a necessity at some point due to labor issues. Check out our in-store solutions which includes our kiosk program & pay at the table: https://lnkd.in/eAUDsENz Let's connect if your brand is seeing similar trends. Happy to have a chat about what makes us unique, effective, and scaleable. There's a reason why large brands like Burger King trust us with their technology. https://lnkd.in/egADjQpT

We f**d it. 🤬 The holy grail for any online F&B brand is to get listed in retail. Independents, farm shops, big retail, wholesalers, whichever it is, once you have customers that gets you noticed in retailers that’s where the larger revenue potential is. By luck we were able to get in front of UK’s largest food wholesaler, who gave us their business card and asked for more details (that’s the secret wink to doors opening). We were elated! Handshakes were given, our Nomad Bean Coffee samples were shared for them to brew at home. They tried it and were even kind enough to give us feedback… 75% of our sample broke when they used it. 😭 Out of all the times our product could fail this was probably the worst time. Needless to say, they didn’t proceed with us. There were two ways we could react to this. Blame user error or figure out a solution to minimise user error and ensure a consistent brewing experience. Any guesses which approach we took? New upgraded filters here we come! 🚀 Who wants the easy way into retail anyway… #founder #coffeebusiness #coffeeconfessions #NBC

"Value was a big deal during the third quarter," according to Restaurant Dive. "Some QSRs that leaned heavily into value offerings made traffic and sales gains, while those that didn’t face stiff competition and comparable sales declines." It was perfectly predictable! Consumers are trading DOWN and OUT as the experience just isn't "worth it" anymore. Consumers reached a tipping point, and now, restaurant brands are feeling the shockwaves. Value deals are everywhere in both QSR and FSR, yet we’ve seen a channel shift that is clearly headed towards less traditional channels such as grocery and convenience stores. From my July data, of those trading down: * 32% are turning to Grocery Store Delis/Food Service Areas (36% under $50K HH income) * 18% Convenience Stores (27% under $50K HH income) * 14% All You Can Eat Buffets (17% under $50K HH income) It makes perfect sense that amid these discount wars, the real winner may not even be a restaurant at all! WHY IT MATTERS >>>Consumers want to go out to eat, but are carefully making choices of where to spend their dollars >>>Lower-income consumers are trading down even more intensively >>>While everyone is cutting prices, how will you make joy your brand differentiator?
