After months of conflict, the situation in Gaza remains complex. Despite Israel's ongoing offensive, nearly half of Hamas' military battalions have managed to rebuild some of their capabilities. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu claims that victory is near, but analyses by experts suggest that Hamas is still able to fight, even after suffering significant losses. Israel denies these findings, saying most of Hamas' units are no longer functional. The Melting Point: Melting Point is a must-reading book and the most intriguing, detailed, informative, and resourceful account of events shaping the fate of Afghanistan, the Middle East, the contest between the US and Tehran Regime including its proxies, countering terrorism by ISIS and Al-Qaeda, and The Taliban. One cannot lay it down even briefly and this book drags its reader to its end. The last chapters of this book most notably narrate in detail and with utmost precision the factors that have contributed to the fall of Afghanistan’s government, the withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan, and the takeover of Afghanistan by the Taliban. I recommend this book to all those interested to know and learn lessons from the superb experience and skills of one of the most professional and exceptional military leaders in the world.

In 1996 I published the first academic book in the West on Hizballah. I mapped out its relationship to IRGC-Quds Force and Syria. I also became a backchannel between Israel and Hizballah on two occasions in 1990s and early 2000. Hizballah has not changed its ideology or military capability - on the contrary it has become more militarily capable and significantly more dangerous! Always with close military assistance from Iran.

Not surprising to me at all! If you have learned a few things about the CCP's perception of the instabilities and security concerns regarding Xinjiang and Tibet, such a military strategy would make more sense to you... Actually, it is paying off greatly from the CCP's perspective.

No amount of military force would ever deliver a stable, united, and secure Afghanistan - Joe Biden, 2021. Today is the three-year mark for an event that we all knew would happen. Despite political and military leadership telling the world it would not happen. Those who went, knew. Words can not express the distress people faced, as the country collapsed and the Taliban regained control. Many innocent Afghans left to a totalitarian regime. Words can not express either, the conflicted feelings of knowing people who gave it all to a mission that had no measure of success. Words can, however, put it all into historical perspective.
