🚰 Today, March 22, is World Water Day! Water is the basis of life, sustaining ecosystems and biodiversity, thus, being crucial for terrestrial and aquatic systems. 💧 At CloverStrategy, we provide laboratory testing with aquatic organisms to prevent negative impacts in aquatic systems, to evaluate the retention function of soil systems and to support the definition of effective strategies to recover contaminated areas! 🧑😊 #cloverstrategy #soil #environment #environmentalrisk

🔊 Call for Input - User Survey: A pollution mapping and risk assessment tool 🌊 Clean Reefs are requesting input by potential users of the new #pollution mapping and risk assessment tool that is being developed to gain diverse and expansive input to better understand how this tool can best support the coral community #ForCoral 🪸Clean Reefs is supported by the The University of Queensland, ICRI member the Wildlife Conservation Society and Coral Vita, with funding from ICRI member G20 CORDAP (Coral Research & Development Accelerator Platform). The product being developed will be an open-access, near real-time, pollution mapping & risk assessment tool with an easy-to-use interface, which will provide decision-makers, organisations, #coralreef scientists, and community scientists from 100+ coral reef countries with key data and information needed to implement pollution #management programs that will have the greatest benefit to vulnerable coral reefs. A great paper looking at the impact of conservation wildlife crossing and how climate change can and should be considered in their deployment.
A new publication by Conservation Science Partners scientists and collaborators addresses a critical gap surrounding #highway #wildlifecrossings: the need to expressly consider the impacts of climate change. Published in Frontiers in Ecology and the Environment, the paper underscores that wildlife crossings are crucial to reducing wildlife mortality and enhancing habitat #connectivity—not to mention ensuring driver safety—and yet rarely is climate change considered in their planning and prioritization. The paper synthesizes the science surrounding wildlife crossings and #climateadaptation, offers expert-informed recommendations for incorporating climate considerations, and demonstrates the importance of doing so through a case study in southwestern #Colorado. You can read the paper here: https://lnkd.in/gsHHuzaE
