You need to run with the horse before you can change its direction. Trying to pull a moving object in a different direction is hard. You will be seen as a threat to the tribe, someone who is not ‘with them.’ Build the trust and relationship, get to know, and listen to their why (run with the horse) before you try and change their direction. The more we understand the horse, the better tactics we can come up with helping them change their direction (the horse is bigger than us and let us face it will probably win). To influence, persuade, run with the horse, get to know it, then and only then, try and change its direction. Start with asking questions with an open heart and listening. Dig deeper to get to the ‘why.’ You ‘will’ learn. *No animals were hurt in the making of this post. #IrrationalChange #TrustAndRelationship #InfluenceAndPersuade #LeadershipMindset

𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗺𝘀: 𝗔 𝗟𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗚𝘂𝗺𝗽! As we celebrate Thanksgiving today , I’ve been reflecting on the power of gratitude and resilience, especially during challenging times that we all are seeing in corporate America. Those of you that know me, know how much I love 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗚𝘂𝗺𝗽 and this particular scene from Forrest Gump beautifully illustrates the essence of gratitude the way I see it. When Lt. Dan faces the raging storm at sea, he confronts his anger, his past, and the chaos around him. While the storm destroys other shrimping boats, his defiance and endurance see him through to calmer waters. The result? His boat becomes the only one standing, reaping an abundance of blessings. This scene is a metaphor for life and gratitude: 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗺𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲, 𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲. 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽𝘀 𝘂𝘀 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱, 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝗱𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗼𝘀. 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗺, 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗯𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴. This Thanksgiving, let's be thankful not just for the blessings but also for the storms that shape us, teach us resilience, and prepare us for growth. 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗺 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀—𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗼, 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘂𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿. As we gather with loved ones, let’s take a moment to reflect on the storms we’ve weathered and the blessings we’ve gained. Here’s to standing tall and embracing life’s journey, one challenge at a time. https://lnkd.in/grx2MXvE #Gratitude #Patience #LifeLessons #Leadership #ForrestGump #Thanksgivinglessons #Embracingchallenges

This is Wilfrid 😍 He’s 10, and for the first 2 years of his life, we went on regular long walks together. During those walks, I’d hear myself judging the neighbours who didn’t take their dogs on walks. “You shouldn’t have a dog if you’re not going to walk one” I said to my husband one day. And then, during a walk one afternoon, Wilfrid was attacked by a dog off-leash. That was the last day he went for a walk. He became terrified of other dogs, and of leaving our home. Despite our efforts, and those of multiple dog trainers, Wilfrid to this day will not stand or move when you try to walk him. What I wish I knew then, that I know now, is that people are usually doing the best they can with the circumstances they’re in. When we find ourselves in a morally superior place, drawing conclusions about people, it’s a sign that we may be missing some context. It’s a clue that we’re may be judging their circumstances based on our own experiences, rather than what may be true for them in that moment. There are so many reasons our neighbours may not be outside walking their dogs. There are so many reasons dogs may not be outside walking. Let’s remember to pause and consider that we are all just doing the very best we can. #empathy #leadership #peopleandculture

Three simple but necessary rules to achieve what you want: 1. You must go after what you want to have with passion and vigor 2. If you don't ask, the answer will always be no. 3. If you don't take a step forward, you will always be in the same place. #LifeRules #Passion #Bold #Opportunity #DrSinicropi

This is why I love what I do! A meeting-less Monday morning means I have time to capitalize on the cool weather and spend time with my BEB (Best Equine Buddy). This week we're working on some ground tricks to reinforce more complex lessons in the saddle. Taking it back to basics so the harder things are easier to tackle and learn for both of us. Huck also got a mini spa day in preparation for this weekend's show. Doesn't he look adorable in his braids? Is your job allowing you to do what you love? Then what's the point?! If not, what can you change to make that goal a reality? #HorseTraining #PersonalDevelopment #AECMarketing #ImYourHuckleberry
