📣 Help Us Reach Our Year-End Goal! As we close out the year, we’re launching a $10,000 fundraising drive to continue the critical work of exonerating the wrongfully incarcerated. These cases are not only life-changing—they’re expensive. Legal fees, investigations, DNA testing, and post-release support all require significant resources. Thanks to the generosity of Rich Shaper, every donation of $100 or more will be matched, doubling your impact! Exonerations are about more than freedom—they’re about justice, dignity, and giving people back their lives after years lost behind bars for crimes they didn’t commit. We can’t do this without your support. Learn more and donate at DeskovicFoundation.org. Together, we can make justice possible. #JusticeMatters #Exoneration #WrongfulConviction #InnocenceProject #JusticeForAll #AdvocacyForChange #YearEndGiving #NonprofitSupport #MakingADifference #HumanRights #DonateNow

Color Me Yellow- Inside Out Network Fundraising Campaign- Year 2! First off, to all of those who previously donated, we wanted to thank you again for your generous financial support for the Inside Out Network's Color Me Yellow campaign last year. Because of last year's successful campaign, we were able to retool our online platform and shift our work to a higher gear. This year’s campaign is all about pressing on the accelerator and doubling our impact. Our goals for the coming year are to successfully launch direct access between men and women leaving prison and community service providers (a) on ViaPath tablets in Oregon, Illinois, and Mississippi, (b) on prison library computers in Arizona, and (c) by registering the next 50 service providers in Oregon. Due to the funding that is needed to pursue these exciting opportunities for growth, we have officially launched our second "Color Me Yellow" campaign. If you are able to make a tax-deductible contribution to ION (501 c 3) now, your gift will be doubled! Several generous friends of ION have come forward with matching challenge gifts in the amount of $20,000; we hope to raise a minimum of $70,000 before the end of the year to fuel our vision. So for this Giving Tuesday (December 3rd), please consider donating- you can help change the lives of thousands of those leaving incarceration. DONATE NOW: https://lnkd.in/gkiyk_Xd. *You can also mail a check to our address or donate stock. Please reach out for more information.* Please share with your family and friends too. Join us in the fight for justice for Gregory Goodwine! 🕊️ After 19 years wrongfully imprisoned for a non-violent crime, Gregory is finally free, but his journey is far from over. Why we need your help: Wrongful Conviction: Gregory was sentenced to 25 years to life in 2005, despite DNA evidence excluding him and a witness identifying another man. Inadequate Representation: Gregory's initial legal defense failed to secure his exoneration. New Hope: New DNA testing techniques could reveal the true perpetrator and clear Gregory's name. How your donations will make a difference: $34,000 Goal: Your support will fund DNA retesting, hire a private investigator, and cover legal fees. Every Dollar Counts: Even small donations of $10 or $20 bring us closer to justice. Take Action: Donate: Visit https://lnkd.in/e6VFNnnc Share: Spread the word and help us amplify Gregory's story. Together, we can right this wrong and ensure Gregory receives the justice he deserves. ✊ #JusticeForGregory #DeskovicFoundation #InnocenceProject #SupportExonerations #Fundraiser #DonateNow

Globally, one in three victims of human trafficking are children, and the majority of them are girls. Children are also twice as likely as adults to face violence during trafficking. Children are subjected to various forms of trafficking, including forced labour, crime, begging, illegal adoption, sexual abuse and the online dissemination of abusive images, and some are also recruited into armed groups. This United Nations' World Day Against Trafficking in Persons (30 July), we're joining the campaign to raise awareness of the causes and vulnerabilities associated with child trafficking. There is a critical need for dedicated support for child victims of trafficking, and together we are urging the public and policymakers to address the current shortcomings and accelerate action to #EndHumanTrafficking. Does your nonprofit seek a good deal of its financial support by offering up to its donors and prospects the most pathetic and tragic examples of needs being served by the organization? Even going as far as to publish and broadcast photos and videos of its saddest cases? Early in my career we called this "CHARITY PORN," and for good reason. Because of its very negative and exploitive approach, charity porn was rather rare. Today, however, it is the preferred way for several larger nonprofits to motivate it's donors to give, and to attract new donors. I am a believer that the average donor is not only caring, but smart. You as a nonprofit leader may be able to move someone to making a first gift by using charity porn... But, you won't be able to retain them using these tactics. Donors respond better to positive and lasting results from what were tragic situations. #fundraising #donorretention #donorattrition #donoracquisition #charityporn #nonprofits
