Does it take a national-disgrace* to tell it like it is? 🔥 "Your house is on fire, but don't worry, the next flash flood should sort it out" *(Self-proclaimed) "national disgrace", Jo Brand, teams up with climate scientist Mark Maslin, to translate complex science into everyday (funny, even?) language. Entertainment can be a powerful way to breakthrough environmental messages, raise awareness and normalise action. For example: - The Apprentice this year featured challenges on creating electric delivery vehicles and vegan cheeses (even if curry flavour was a bit wild..) - Recent films: Don’t Look Up, or The End We Start With - Hubbub's very own community fridge, in the caf on Eastenders - To normalising #sustainable options at gigs and events, in product placement and more. With #climate messages being heavy at times, maybe we need a bit more laughter alongside translating reality. Bring on the comedians. What are your favourite examples?
Thanks for mentioning Climate Science Breakthrough! Agree that humour is so powerful in talking about climate
Jess Wiles i actaully really liked the brand name Chegun Veese from the Apprentice - they should have stuck with it 🧀

7moI love Stuart Goldsmith (Comedy Supercharger)’s guilt-gasm stand up. Cathartic and normalising. And funny.
