Thank you to Flotation Energy and Cobra Infraestructuras Hidráulicas for taking such good care of the Cork crew - what a great experience, a good few takeaways to reflect on and ponder on. The future is absolutely green energy and both fixed and floating are the future, along with solar and wave. The benefits to us as a country and for all our communities is just incredible but we still have work to do to get to where we need to get to but Ireland has the expertise, the waters and more importantly the people. Just by way of information Kincardine is a floating windfarm with just 5 turbines 13.5 km from the shoreline all connected to he grid producing electricity to 50k homes roughly so imagine what we could do. Unfortunately only one was spinning due to maintenance (they have to do this in the summer due to weather) - we were lucky to get out, the trip after us was cancelled. It just shows you people who work in the maritime world and go to sea are to be commmended it’s not an easy task - all food for thought - now back to selling houses. This week, our Offshore Renewables Director, Nigel Robinson, spoke with Rob Flett on Radio Orkney about the upcoming trials of the PALM Charger. Nigel shared his vision: "Once the trials are complete, we aim to reach a point where potential customers recognise the PALM Charger as a great idea and are eager to collaborate with us to overcome the final hurdles and bring this innovation to reality." The PALM Charger is designed to provide offshore recharging points for electrically powered marine vessels. This technology extends operational capabilities by overcoming the range limitations of current vessels. Key Details: 🚀 Trials Start: September in Orkney 🚀 Funded By: Innovate UK 🚀 Essential Partners: EMEC: European Marine Energy Centre and Leask Marine Ltd 🚀 Next Steps: A successful trial will lead to a commercial prototype ready for a 2025 pilot, initially targeting Offshore Wind projects and expanding to fisheries, aquaculture, ferries, and leisure sectors. 🎧 Listen to the interview (link in comments). #offshorerenewables #offshorewind #innovation

I’m thrilled to be joining Peter Woodward, Managing Director of The CaPTA Group, for a fireside chat at the All Energy Australia Conference, where we’ll discuss the incredible strides, we’re making in Cairns’ transport sector. Together, Tropic Wings Cairns Tours & Charters and EnergyAustralia are leading the charge in electrifying the Tropic Wings bus depot as they transition to electric buses. This $10.2M project, supported by Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA), is more than just a moving away from diesel—it’s about installing scalable, sustainable, and future-proofed infrastructure. From battery energy storage to the advanced islanding capability, ensuring continuous operations during power outages, we’re setting the standard for resilient green transport energy solutions. We can’t wait to share insights on the challenges, opportunities, and the broader impact this will have on the Cairns region, its environment, and its people. Looking forward to seeing you there! WRA's Severiano DeSoto testified for the passage of SB212 last week at the State Capitol. SB212 was the product of a year and a half long stakeholder process directed by WRA’s Severiano DeSoto and the Colorado Renewable Energy Siting Coalition to develop a siting policy that centers conservation and community values while helping to accelerate the build out of utility scale wind and solar projects. ☀️ Why is this so critical? Building the clean energy projects necessary to meet our ambitious climate goals will require a significant amount of land for wind and solar energy production, the largest driver of new land use change in the coming decades. To meet this need in a manner that does not exacerbate habitat loss and accelerate further loss of biodiversity requires a new approach to development planning that WRA is working to spearhead across the region. 🤝 Learn more about this work 👉 https://bit.ly/3UJu84i

As we hit the final mile of our Clean Energy Week Road Trip, we just want to say— THANK YOU for riding shotgun with us on this epic journey across the US! From the solar-powered highways of the West, through the sunbaked landscapes of the Southwest, across the wind-swept farmlands of the Midwest, through the gator-filled swamps of the Southeast, and up to the vibrant, eco-friendly cities of the Northeast—it’s been a wild, adventurous, and eco-friendly ride! We’ve tackled solar farms sprawling across deserts, watched wind turbines spin against endless cornfields, and even conquered the marshmallow-soft soils of Arkansas. Through it all, KWRE has proven that renewable energy can overcome any challenge, bringing smart, sustainable power to homes and communities across the country. But this isn’t the end—it’s just the beginning! Keep your seatbelts fastened and your eyes on the road, because the journey to a greener future is far from over. Thanks for riding along, and here’s to even more adventures ahead! #CleanEnergyWeek #BuildingCleanerFuture #KWRE #RenewableEnergy #Sustainability #CleanEnergy #CleanEnergyJourney #KWRERoadtrip #SustainabilityOnTheRoad #EnergyRoadtrip #DiscoverCleanEnergy #RoadtripAcrossAmerica #ExploreRenewables #GreenInnovation #FutureOfEnergy #SustainableSolutions #EnergyTransformation #CleanEnergyRevolution #TravelGreen #CarbonFootprintImpact #JobsInRenewables #GridReliability #SolarPower #WindEnergy #BatteryStorage #HydrogenProjects #RenewableDevelopment #CleanEnergyFuture #HavingFunWithRenewableEnergy #WildestRideInTheWilderness

As we transition to a clean energy future, securing buy-in from major businesses, industries, and stakeholders across the state is crucial in order to achieve our emissions reductions targets, improve our environment, and foster sustainable economic growth. That's why it's great to see Cairns and Mackay airports play their part and agree to power 100% of their land operations with renewable energy. This landmark partnership with publicly-owned CleanCo Queensland will pave the way for a more environmentally conscious approach to aviation. The agreement, backed by energy from the Kaban Wind Farm near Ravenshoe, will commence in 2025, underscoring a significant shift towards sustainable practices in the region. What's truly remarkable about this collaboration is its local impact. By harnessing renewable energy generated in North Queensland, Cairns and Mackay airports are not just helping to create a cleaner environment, they are also bolstering the renewable energy industry, supporting jobs in the local community, and strengthening their commitment to sustainable tourism. With renewable energy soon set to power airports across Queensland, we're flying towards a cleaner future; one where our state is positioned as a beacon of sustainability for generations to come. #aviation #renewableenergy #alternativeenergy #partnership
