Entrepreneurship is taking shape in Kenya. However the government of Kenya has no precise policy developed to guide on Entrepreneurship. What we have is a myriad of "small" policies mentioning mostly one aspect or focus area of the policy mostly source of finance for the business. However the entrepreneurship policy shoud be broad but easy to understand too.The broad policy should comprise various focus areas as follows with each specific laid down initiative how to achieve it.The entrepreneurship policy Framework should Address the following 7 targetareas which should be incorporated in the policy provisions which are;1. Promoting entrepreneurship education and culture2. Supporting new business start ups through the venture creation and growth processes3. Enhancing access to start up and expansion capital4. Optimizing regulatory environment,5. Harnessing the potential of science technology and innovation in enterprisedevelopment6. Promoting enterprise awareness and networking 7. Access to markets. In my subsequent write ups I will elaborate more on each policy initiative and how to achieve it. #usaid #trademarkafrica #ministrytrade#ministrycooperative

Calling All Zambian Youth Entrepreneurs! In a rapidly changing world, the power of collaboration cannot be overstated. As young entrepreneurs in Zambia, it’s time we stop viewing each other as competitors and start learning from the incredible achievements made possible through collaboration in other countries. "Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much." – Helen Keller Our counterparts around the globe have shown us that true innovation and growth come from unity. By joining forces with both the private sector and government, we can create opportunities that benefit all. "Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success." – Henry Ford Imagine the impact we could make if we pooled our resources, shared our knowledge, and supported each other’s ventures. The combined strength of our diverse skills and ideas can lead to groundbreaking advancements and a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem. "If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." – African Proverb Let’s reach out, network, and build partnerships that transcend borders. By learning from the collaborative efforts of youth in other nations, we can transform our challenges into opportunities and drive sustainable development in Zambia. Townships are the heartbeat of South Africa, and their entrepreneurs are the lifeblood. At the Township Economies Conference & Expo, Shingi joined an incredible panel discussing how to build a supportive ecosystem for these dynamic businesses. 💬 Shingi's key insight: "No one entity (government, private sector, or civil society) can do incubation on its own. We need to go beyond meeting at conferences and collaborate to pool our resources and offerings to grow sustainably. By providing the right support, we can help these businesses scale, create jobs, and drive economic growth." 🌍 Why this matters: As South Africa grapples with high unemployment rates and economic disparities, townships often become a beacon of hope and opportunity. The informal sector in these communities supports around 2.5 million people, providing essential goods and services. 🌱 At the Foundation, we're committed to empowering township communities. By fostering robust ecosystems, we aim to cultivate sustainable growth and economic resilience.
