Calling All Zambian Youth Entrepreneurs! In a rapidly changing world, the power of collaboration cannot be overstated. As young entrepreneurs in Zambia, it’s time we stop viewing each other as competitors and start learning from the incredible achievements made possible through collaboration in other countries. "Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much." – Helen Keller Our counterparts around the globe have shown us that true innovation and growth come from unity. By joining forces with both the private sector and government, we can create opportunities that benefit all. "Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success." – Henry Ford Imagine the impact we could make if we pooled our resources, shared our knowledge, and supported each other’s ventures. The combined strength of our diverse skills and ideas can lead to groundbreaking advancements and a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem. "If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." – African Proverb Let’s reach out, network, and build partnerships that transcend borders. By learning from the collaborative efforts of youth in other nations, we can transform our challenges into opportunities and drive sustainable development in Zambia. Let's elevate our entrepreneurial community and inspire future generations. Together, we can achieve greatness. #YouthEntrepreneurs #CollaborationOverCompetition #Zambia #Innovation #Entrepreneurship

When it comes to investing or building a business through #Entrepreneurship in Zambia, one critical insight is this: Large Markets Are Forgiving, but Small Markets Can Be Brutal. In larger, more diverse markets, businesses have room to make early mistakes, learn, and find pockets of opportunity. They can test ideas, adapt, and grow without being constantly on the edge. But in smaller, more challenging markets like Zambia’s, the stakes are high, and every misstep counts. Zambia has incredible potential for business growth, but it also brings unique challenges. Demand can be limited, and purchasing power varies significantly, which means that competition is tight, margins are slim, and efficiency is critical. Even the most driven entrepreneurs can find themselves facing obstacles if they underestimate these dynamics. Here, the market "wins" by constraining businesses that aren't prepared to operate lean, adapt quickly, and connect deeply with their customers. To succeed, entrepreneurs in Zambia need to be exceptionally resourceful, focusing on efficiency, building strong customer relationships, and thinking creatively. Strategic partnerships, community trust, and agile operations aren't just assets—they’re essentials for navigating Zambia’s smaller, often challenging market landscape. Understanding this reality is key. It's not a limitation but a call to develop sharper insights, more resilient models, and stronger community ties. Recognizing the unique business landscape of Zambia helps entrepreneurs position themselves for sustainable growth and long-term success. #EntrepreneurMindset #ZambiaBusiness #EmergingMarkets #InvestmentStrategies #Entrepreneurs #BusinessGrowth #SmallMarkets #ZambiaInvesting #BusinessResilience #MarketAnalysis #GrowthStrategies #Adapt #BusinessChallenges #MarketEntry #StartupsZambia #BusinessLessons #MarketInsights #ZambiaEconomy #BusinessSurvival #SmallBusinessTips #LocalMarketChallenges #BuildInZambia

🚀 WHERE ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT FAILS 😥 - Why we are not getting the results that Africa needs African countries and many other developing economies desperately need more entrepreneurs to start businesses, and there is a lot of money flowing into that space, ESGs, SDGs, and many other initiatives (ESD and ED). Suppose you take all of this into account. In that case, we should see a tsunami of entrepreneurs wash over this continent, bringing with it jobs, local economic development, and massive poverty reduction. Yet, our high unemployment rates and poverty persist. The industry is missing a subtle nuance in the entrepreneurship development space that holds the key to unlocking entrepreneurial potential in #africa. The definition of entrepreneurship development says that it is the process of enhancing individuals' skills, knowledge, and mindset to create and run their own businesses. The keyword here is "individual," the human being behind the business. Taking someone through #leanstartup, #designthinking, or even an online #entrepreneurship course does not make them an entrepreneur. In my work at The Human Entrepreneur, where we take #unemployed people in townships in #southafrica and get them to start a profitable business in 5 weeks without external #funding, we know that entrepreneurship development actually has very little to do with developing a business. It is all about the individual, the human being. Yet, in my experience, most programs focus on the business. Yes, yes, I know they do coaching and mentorship, and I have served on many of those programs. Even the coaching and mentorship are about the business. Still, the human is left behind. Please understand that I am not here to rip into your program if you do entrepreneurship development; I am trying to bring something to your attention. What I am pushing for is not a threat to you. It is a compliment. I believe, and that is also the work I do, that we should not develop businesses; we should develop people who develop businesses first. That is where the key to entrepreneurship, #jobcreation, and economic growth #success lies for Africa and the world. What do you think? Let me know in the comment below. At National Youth Caucus Kenya, just as other like minded organizations like the TEF, our mission is to reshape Africa’s economic development paradigm by moving away from dependency on foreign aid and fostering sustainable growth fueled by the innovation and resilience of young entrepreneurs. Across the continent, youth make up over 60% of Africa’s population, yet they remain largely underrepresented in economic decision-making and business leadership. We are committed to changing this narrative by equipping young Africans with the tools, resources, and networks they need to build thriving enterprises. Studies have shown that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) account for over 80% of jobs in Africa, highlighting the critical role of entrepreneurship in driving economic progress. By focusing on youth-led SMEs, we aim to catalyze widespread economic transformation that benefits communities and strengthens economies. We invite like-minded partners to join us in this endeavor. By supporting youth entrepreneurship, you are not just investing in individual success stories; you are contributing to a broader movement that aims to secure a sustainable and prosperous future for Africa. Together, we can ensure that every young African has the opportunity to innovate, succeed, and contribute to the continent’s long-term development.
