Today, our plates are available in three color variations to meet specific assay needs: transparent, black, and white. Developing these products took time, but providing a high-quality solution was always our priority. We knew that sustainability shouldn’t come at the expense of performance. Making LCA Meaningful: Good Data, Better Models, Sustainable Decisions 🌱 This is the title of the 26th LCA Symposium organized by the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC), which will take place from October 21st to 23rd in Sweden. ⏰📍 Our colleague Kaja Mol, Sustainability Consultant at iPoint, will be presenting a poster created together with Pauline Langbehn, Product Manager at iPoint, Maria D., Research & Innovation Team Lead at iPoint, and Julius Eik Grimmenstein, research assistant at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg.  Entitled ‘Examination of recycling processes for metallized polymer foams using Life Cycle Assessment’, the presentation will focus on the analysis and evaluation of recycling processes for metallized polymer foams as part of a life cycle analysis. 💡 It will examine how these materials can be recycled in a more environmentally friendly way to minimize their ecological impact. 🌍 👉 The LCA Symposium is now in its 26th edition and attracts LCA practitioners and decision-makers from the environmental toxicology and chemistry sector across Europe every year.  We are excited to be represented by Kaja in Stockholm! 🎉 #LCA #Sustainability #CircularEconomy

Geographical and organised #proximity reveal all their potential when dealing with #CircularEconomy This is my fourth paper on #proximity in Regional Studies Journal !!!! This brand new one has been written with my cherished co-authors Sébastien BOURDIN, Marie-France Vernier, Nabila Arfaoui and Linh Chi Vo. The study is based on an original survey of 1000 firms in the chemistry sector in France.

As Europe strives to meet its net-zero goals, the pressure is on to find new plastic recycling methods. As Cefic mentions below, plastic #ChemicalRecycling holds a crucial role in Europe's Circular Economy Transition. ♻ Chemical techniques which are currently being developed will allow to recycle an even wider range of #plastics, supplementing existing mechanical technologies. Many sectors need to contribute to faster decision-making on clean technologies. Engineering community needs to provide accurate information on life-cycle impact and likely cost. Ideally the engineering community would reach a consensus on which technologies are likely to be beneficial to society. Industry needs to invest/participate in the demonstration of new technologies at larger scale, to provide better cost estimates, and to reduce the technical risk. Industry can often identify additional non-technical barriers to deploying a technology. Governments needs to provide some financial support for both the research and the demonstrations, and then strong policy support for the most beneficial technologies. That policy support facilitates the huge investments needed.

#bioeconomy and #biosolutions are key drivers for the green transition. They are at the forefront when shifting from a fossil-based to a bio-based economy. They have the potential to address many of today’s key challenges. However, we need to remove barriers and reduce outdated, disproportionate administrative burdens in order to accelerate their road to market and unleash their full potential. Not trivial indeed - but we need to find reliable solutions. At NOVONESIS we continue to bring in our expertise into this process and support this dialogue actively. This week, we had the opportunity to discuss our thoughts together with a group of companies across industry segments - covering a wide range from wood and pulp to biotechnology, from consumer goods to B2B - with Robert Habeck, the German Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action. There is so much to gain from biosolutions in terms of sustainability, competitiveness and resilience both in Germany 🇩🇪 and Europe 🇪🇺. But we have no time to waste!
