For 43 years, my journey has been defined by a deep passion for chocolate and an unrelenting drive to build. I am regularly approached by investors, strategics, and competitors who suggest I sit back now - and retire, enjoy the fruits of my labor, and sail the One Shot into the sunset. I’ve actually tried, a few times, believe me, and failed at that. The simple truth is: I am a builder. I’ve found myself many times drifting around in various tropical paradises, looking out at the horizon and dreaming about how to make chocolate even greater.  There’s nothing I’d rather do than craft great chocolate, grow businesses, and innovate within this incredible industry.There is so much more to create, to refine, and to share. For me, making great chocolate isn’t the destination; it’s the journey. Now, the game of chocolate will be played in a new stadium. Our incredible new plant going up in Rockwall, Texas, will redefine the game. Surrounded by a team of passionate chocolate crazies, we’re shaping our own future—one that’s all chocolate, all the time. With cutting-edge technology, the best equipment money can buy, and plenty of room to hone our craft, we’re ready to take chocolate making to the next level. We play this game hard, and we play it for the love of the game. Some seasons are tougher than others, some wins come with a lot of cuts and bruises, and some years we don’t even make the playoffs. But one thing’s for sure: in the game of chocolate, you want to be in it forever. And we’re here to stay, building, dreaming, and crafting greatness one bar at a time.

We’ve officially been in business for 4 years! 🎉 It turns out that time really does fly when you’re having fun (right Olly Cooper?) In the spirit of LinkedIn, here are four (genuinely useful) things that a slightly younger Em would have needed to hear: 1. You can’t expect to get things right all the time. Pretend you’re in a laboratory, test things out and see how they stick. Learn, improve, continue. 2. Don’t expect to have all the knowledge, tools or the resources you need to succeed (especially when you haven’t done something before), but do rely on the curiosity you have to go and find those things. 3. Sleeping on it, working it out and walking it off are the best ways to deal with stressful situations. 4. Celebrate the little wins. Even if it’s just acknowledging these things in a reminder google doc. But do celebrate. Preferably with donuts. Now, Michael Kireli-Reed and I are off to scoff these donuts to celebrate my 4 years in business 🥳🍩

When a colleague or customer goes the extra mile, even when you least expect it! When was the last time you had an amazing experience where someone did something extra that you truly appreciated and made you feel happy (perhaps more than once)? Last week, I was at DTU Skylab, and out of nowhere, my customer took a great photo without even being asked. Often, I ask customers to take pictures for their promotions and for me as well, but this small, spontaneous gesture gave me an extra good feeling. These little acts of kindness, big or small, leave a lasting impact. They not only show appreciation but also strengthen relationships. So, back to the first question: When was the last time someone chose to go the extra mile for you in everyday life? P.S. Don’t forget to thank them for it 😉 Happy Friday! Ps.
