It's always great to be back on Rocky Top with my colleagues! Another successful Global Supply Chain Institute at the University of Tennessee Supply Chain Forum in the books! Here are a few simple takeaways from various sessions from the 3 day event: 𝐄𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠: Data Analytics Critical Thinking Effective Communication Continuous Improvement 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: Many leaders never intended to take on leadership roles; they were identified and tapped for these positions without any experience. Organizations need to enhance their training programs to better equip leaders for success. 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞: In our rapidly changing world, leaders must grasp the nuances of political science and its impact on the supply chain. This is especially important as policies that the new administration will put into place will impact global supply chains. 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩: Being a visible leader is crucial. It fosters trust and engagement within teams. 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐲 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞 Supply chain leaders have the opportunity and responsibility to create value within their organizations. By understanding how supply chains can drive value, they can positively impact the bottom line.
