Tonia, one of EKCEP's Job Entry and Retention Support Specialists, learned about an issue at a local sober living house. James and one of his housemates were sharing just one pair of work boots: one person wore the boots for the first shift, and the other wore the same boots on the second shift. Seeing this immediate need, Tonia sprang into action and brought the men in this house 11 pairs of work boots–and 11 pairs of pants for good measure. This ensured that each man in the home could fulfill his responsibilities without relying on others for basic necessities. These boots and pants not only support their work readiness but also boost their confidence and dignity. At EKCEP, we believe in offering comprehensive support for those in recovery, tackling not just the big challenges but also the small details that make a big difference in day-to-day life. If you're on a journey of recovery and facing obstacles that keep you from fulfilling your potential, we're here to help lift those barriers. Contact your local Job Entry and Recovery Support Specialist through ekcep.org/recovery and take a step towards transforming your life. Together, let's build a foundation for success.

It's not official until you get the goodie box, and guess what arrived yesterday! I'll be starting at Scoro next week to lead business development. What does Scoro do I hear you ask? They help businesses streamline their operations and improve productivity, offering tools for project management, time tracking, task management, financial management, and reporting. Scoro is primarliy used by service-oriented companies, including marketing agencies, consulting firms, and professional service providers, to manage their workflows, track billable hours, and ensure efficient collaboration across teams. Here's some reasons why I'm excited be joining the team: ⭐️ Culture of internal promotion - BDRs are getting promoted. Excited to develop the next generation of sellers ⭐️ Remote first, with some in-person days - flexibility to do best work is paramount ⭐️ Exciting stage of growth - rapidly growing and expanding internationally ⭐️ Huge addressable market - the number of companies Scoro is positioned to support is massive ⭐️ Rigorous assessment process - says a lot about the calibre of team I'll get to work with And I would be remiss to not also mention... ⭐️4️⃣⭐️day work week - most of the year the team doesn't work Fridays. This is Scoro walking the walk - a shorter work week at a higher intensity, with more time for rest and to come back fresh and creative each week, in part to using the tools they offer their customers. Thank you so much to everyone that has helped me get set up and feel welcome! Estere Ērgle Anett Pero Alistair Adams Fred Krieger Annika Albert Emils V.

Today, I had the opportunity to interview Muhammad Rizki Arfad Asyarif, who plays a crucial role as a staff member in the Financial Bureau of Kanopi FEB UI 2023 and as the Logistics Manager of IEO. Through our conversation, I gained a deeper understanding of the meaningful work that Kak Arfad has done. In IEO, he is responsible for duplicating goods for events/seminars and is in charge of operations such as streaming on Zoom, etc. Meanwhile, in Kanopi, Kak Arfad is responsible for helping to generate data from sales results. Kak Arfad also shared stories about how his organizational activities have affected his academic life. According to Kak Arfad, the impact is very significant because he can gain friends with the same frequency and get relationships with friends outside of his department. Furthermore, Kak Arfad talked about how to manage time while being in an organization, which he believes depends on each individual's mindset and always prepares notes and knows the goals for the future. The reason Kak Arfad is in IEO and Kanopi is that he wants to deepen relationships with friends from the same department and outside the department while bringing out ideas during organizational activities. Lastly, the joys and sorrows of being in an organization. He said that he is very helped because he gets many relationships with friends and can develop soft skills and hard skills. On the other hand, his sorrow is that Kak Arfad often feels late or cannot meet expectations during organizational activities. The most striking thing during our discussion was Kak Arfad's desire to gain relationships with friends and his encouragement to develop organizational skills and experience. He chose to join IEO and Kanopi because it aligns with his academic interests and provides an environment where he can hone his skills. His insight not only deepened my understanding of his role as a staff member of the Financial Bureau of Kanopi and Logistics Manager of IEO but also inspired me to give the same dedication and enthusiasm in my endeavors. Thank you for this extraordinary opportunity and for the time you took to share your experiences and insights with me, Kak!

Learn more about one of our board members, Katy Timken , who was featured on her company’s LinkedIn page. Thanks for all you do for our chapter!
Meet Katy Timken, Business Development & Account Manager at NCRI! 💼 Years at NCRI: By February 2025, Katy will have been with us for an impressive 12 years! ✨ Favorite thing about working at NCRI: 'Every day we get the opportunity to help people. I enjoy that at NCRI we have the ability to have a solution(s) for people in their time of need. I also enjoy my coworkers; they are definitely a lot of fun and, over the years, we have become like family. I love that no two days are the same. One day I can come into the office and work at my desk, the next day I might be giving a presentation, and the next day I might be in work boots and a hardhat out on a job site. Our line of work definitely keeps us on our toes!' Thank you, Katy, for your dedication, passion, and the difference you make every day. Here's to many more years of making an impact!

This is a must read for any Strategic or Key Account Manager that wants to hone their skills to have more impact for their customers. Applause to Janti Masani for documenting what’s in the “secret sauce”. In my experience, this sums up what I’ve observed from the most impactful KAMs and SAMs, even before we had “growth mindset” and “emotional intelligence” in our vocabulary. #strategicaccountmanagement #growthmindset #emotionalintelligence #resiliency
CEO and Founder of CXO IMPACT LLP | Principal The Summit Group | Passionate about helping people stand out and show up differently by connecting the heart and mind |
I am excited to share with you an article we wrote for The Association for Key Account Management - AKAM in June 2024 Bulletin. My sincere thanks to Diana Woodburn for the support in publishing the article. Our article "Exercising your Heart and Mind for KAMs" explains the importance of combining your heart and mind to become a better version of yourself and create compelling impact with a growth mindset and authentic character. Please chime in and share your thoughts and experiences ! We'd love to hear from you. This is an exciting new portfolio of work we are very excited to share with passion and enthusiasm in the journey to support KAMs to "stand out and show up differently" !

What’s the best piece of advice you would give to someone starting work at a big company? 😏 Our colleague Simon Weisskopf is used to answering questions about making the most of a career at a company like Sappi – after all, he’s one of a select group of employees celebrating a special anniversary. It’s 20 years since he first joined us! 🍾 So, what would Simon’s advice be? “Every time there is something to do, say yes!” is his answer. Why? “Because when you do that, it will be appreciated – it exceeds all expectations.” Fostering a great team spirit is what Simon and Sappi are all about. And that team spirit serves all of us well. “I remember when we had to undertake a massive system migration,” Simon recalls. “We had to rebook thousands of order lines in a short period of time. Although it was a huge challenge, we really enjoyed working together as a team to overcome it.” Thanks, Simon, for being such a stand-out member of our Sappi team.🥇 What positive advice would you have for someone starting a new career today? #careers #teamwork #sappi
