The ADA is divided into five titles (or sections) that relate to different areas of public life. Title IV - Telecommunications 🔹Requires telephone and Internet companies to provide a nationwide system of interstate and intrastate telecommunications relay services that allows individuals with hearing or speech disabilities to communicate over the telephone. 🔹Requires closed captioning of federally funded public service announcements. 🔹Regulated by the Federal Communication Commission(link is external). #EmploymentDisabilityResources #DisabilityInclusion #BreakingBarriers #PromoteInclusion #MissionBased #ADA

I had a great chat with Paul Bartlett, Narelle Akers from @CommunicationExtra, and Shun-Nga Hui about the NDIA’s struggles to communicate with the deaf community. We worked together on ideas to solve this important issue and make communication better for everyone. Highlights 1) The NDIA doesn't understand how to effectively communicate with the Deaf Community. 2) The W3C standards need upgrading to connect with the community better. 3) Other companies are involved and wanting to create a singular voice which the NDIA listen too the people on the ground. One Mission One Voice The NDIAs mission is to create an inclusive Australia for those with Disabilities.
