Even though this video was recorded a few years ago, its message is more relevant now than ever. We've made great strides when it comes to mental health awareness, yet the stigma still lingers. Too many of us hesitate to seek the help we need because of outdated misconceptions and societal pressures. 💡 The Truth: Seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. It's a proactive step towards a healthier, happier you. Mental health services are not just for those in crisis—they're for anyone wanting to improve their well-being. Group therapy and individual therapy provide invaluable support and fresh perspectives that friends and family, despite their best intentions, might not be able to offer. 💬 Let's Start the Conversation: Share your experiences, support one another, and let's collectively break down the barriers surrounding mental health. Know that you’re not alone, and there’s absolutely no shame in seeking help. #MentalHealthAwareness #BreakTheStigma #YouAreNotAlone

It's the last day of Mental Heath Awareness month so here my hot(ish) take that no one asked for: Mental health issues do NOT give you justification to treat others poorly. You are still responsible for your actions and how it impacts others. This is one of the most destructive things about mental health. Hurting those around you, whether intentionally or inadvertently comes with these issues. Don't get me wrong, I'm so glad we've progressed as a culture where we can talk about mental health. These issues are incredibly challenging and we need to be empathetic and understanding. But it's not a blanket excuse. 1. Pause before reacting 2. Take your meds properly 3. Understand that not all advice from therapy applies universally. Setting boundaries in your personal life may differ from your work life. 4. Apologize when you need to. Do you agree? What would you add? #mentalheath #mentalhealthawareness

💚 As its Mental Health Awareness Week I thought I would share my own personal experience with Mental Health 💚 I always find it a difficult topic to talk about my own experiences as I’m fully aware there are people in life in much worse situations than myself and I have a lot of gratitude for everything that I do have. I also don’t want to say the wrong thing about my poor understanding on it. However, it’s important to talk & I’m sure I’m not the only person though that feels this way? I come from a family that have suffered with poor mental health for generations, so much so that I have witnessed immediate family members sectioned and my 22 year old cousin fighting for her life in a coma after taking an overdose. I have been through the heartbreak of losing my dad to cancer, my uncle to violent crime and so many other painful losses within my family that have torn life as we used to know it apart. I do not come from a wealthy family, in fact I watch most family members struggle to pay the bills on their council houses month to month. I carry a guilt for this, especially as I’m able to travel often, pay my bills and live a comfortable lifestyle. Would you think I suffered with my mental health if you were to interact with me day to day? Probably not - I havent been diagnosed? but does that mean that I do not suffer as an impact of my past trauma? or lessen this guilt I carry for living a life not immediately available to those close to me? This is just a reminder to be kind to your colleagues, support your colleagues and talk to your colleagues! 💚 My favourite way to improve my own Mental Health as well as improve those around me is by showing random acts of kindness, here’s some ideas on how you can do so: https://lnkd.in/eJ_PV2tX #mentalhealthawareness
