Over the last five years, Washington’s population has grown by 400,000, yet child care capacity has only increased by 3,000 spaces. This gap is especially concerning when we realize that just 29% of the 300,000+ families with children under five have access to child care services. At Kids Co., we are committed to addressing these challenges and closing the gaps in our child care system. You can help make a difference too—whether as a board member, donor, volunteer, or advocate for child care access. Join us in our mission and be part of the change. Together, we can create a better future for our children. Source: Child Care Aware WA #ChildCareMatters #SupportFamilies #EmpowerThroughCare #KidsCoCommunity #KidsCo #KidsCoWA

The State Budget has been delivered, and while we’re disappointed that the focus remains on non-family based residential care, we see opportunities ahead. At The Reily Foundation, we believe in the power of early intervention, reunification, and Family Group Conferencing. Our programs have demonstrated positive outcomes for children, young people, and their families. Future Funding Needs: While the budget addresses many critical areas, there are still gaps that require attention. The Reily Foundation is committed to advocating for additional funding to support early intervention and child protection initiatives to ensure that every family has access to the resources they need. Our Next Steps: 1. Collaborate with new and existing partners to maximize the impact of the allocated budget. 2. Advocate for additional funding to bridge gaps in early intervention and child protection initiatives. 3. Work tirelessly to create a safer, nurturing environment for all families. We believe that with sustained effort and collaborative partnerships, we can create a safer and more nurturing environment for all families. #ReilyFoundation #EarlyIntervention #FamilySupport #ChildProtection #Advocacy #CommunityPartners #SaferFamilies

This #ChildProtectionWeek, let's unite to ensure every child feels safe, loved, and protected. It takes a village to raise a child, and we all play a part in safeguarding their well-being. Here are a few ways you can contribute: 1. **Educate**: Teach children about their rights and how to stay safe. 2. **Listen**: Create a safe space for children to express their concerns. 3. **Report**: Speak up if you see or suspect abuse. Protecting children is everyone's responsibility. 4. **Support**: Offer support to families in need. Sometimes, a little help can prevent a crisis. Together, we can create a safer, brighter future for our children. 💚 #ProtectOurKids #ChildSafety #CommunityCare #ChildWelfare #EveryConversationMatters #ChildTrafficking

When people ask me about Generus, I show them this video🧡 If you or your company want to make a difference like this, let’s connect!
We’re tearing up over the heartwarming video we just received from Agape Oasis 🧡 Agape Oasis provides culturally-relevant services aimed at empowering people, restoring families, and strengthening communities. And #TeamGenerus recently delivered blankets lovingly crafted by Pohlad Companies employee volunteers to the Agape preschool. The school serves as a safe haven for many young children who are often exposed to domestic violence at home and gun violence in their neighborhoods. These blankets will help create cozy reading nooks, comfortable napping areas, and soothing spaces to promote emotional recovery and regulation. We are proud to partner with Agape Oasis, as they work to provide the tools and resources needed for families to thrive past trauma and build their best lives. 💙 Thank you to the Pohlad employee volunteers for your compassion and commitment to making a difference. Together, we are helping to create a welcoming and safe environment for families in need. #BeGenerus #CollectiveImpact _____________ P.S. If you’re reading this, your company can get involved as well! Host a Generus event with us this year to support nonprofits across the U.S. :)

When you take part in our end of year festive ecard fundraiser you help CCRC unwrap the potential of children in our community. How? The Child Care Resource Center (CCRC) in North Carolina advocates for child care. Our advocacy efforts typically focus on improving access to high-quality, affordable child care for families and supporting the early childhood education workforce. This involves: 📍 Policy Advocacy: Promoting policies at the local, state, and federal levels that increase funding, improve child care quality, and address workforce challenges like low wages and high turnover. 📍 Community Engagement: Raising awareness among families, businesses, and community members about the importance of early childhood education and child care services. 📍 Collaborations: Working with other organizations, coalitions, and stakeholders to build collective support for improvements in the child care system. 📍 Information Sharing: Providing data and insights to policymakers, stakeholders, and the public to highlight the critical role of child care in economic development, family stability, and child development. Our work supports advocacy goals such as ensuring all children have equitable access to quality early learning opportunities and empowering families and providers through better resources and policies. https://lnkd.in/gJ8RcMrx Our festive ecard fundraiser begins December 1st - more info to be posted here. #UnwrapPotential #SupportEarlyLearning #InvestInChildCare #AffordableChildCare #QualityChildCare

2024 Winter Appeal, Brighter futures for homeless young people Uniting is raising funds to support young people between the ages of 12 to 25 who access our Specialist Homelessness Services. Often, these young people are escaping family and domestic violence or unstable home environments and coping with mental health challenges. Increasingly, they’re also facing the nation’s shortage of affordable housing and experiencing poverty. Help us reach our giving goal this winter. I hope you will consider donating to the Uniting EOFY Appeal and give a young person who is homeless or at risk of homelessness the gift of essentials that many of us take for granted such as groceries, bed linen, spare underwear, or a trip to the cinema. Any amount you can afford to gift at tax time can make a big difference to the 1,700 young people who access our Specialist Homelessness Services each year. How to donate to the Uniting EOFY Appeal, It’s easy to donate using a debit or credit card via the public donation page on our website. You can donate up until Sunday 30 June 2024. As Uniting is a registered charity, any donation you make above $2.00 is tax deductible. Even a small donation can make a really big difference and will go directly to the young people who need it most. Read more on our website about how the funds will be used. Your generosity directly supports the vital work of our Specialist Homelessness Services for young people.

Breaking Barriers: Empowering Street and Homeless Children for a Better Tomorrow! On this International Street Children Day, let's shed light on the realities faced by these resilient young souls. While 'street children' and 'homeless children' are sometimes used interchangeably, there are important distinctions between the two. Not all homeless children live openly on the streets; many find themselves in hidden circumstances, such as sleeping on floors or in temporary accommodations like hostels. Shockingly, in 2018, around 9,500 children in the UK spent Christmas in hostels or temporary housing, often facing cramped living conditions and sharing facilities with strangers. Join us in raising awareness about this issue and providing essential support to empower street and homeless children. Together, we can break barriers, create equal opportunities, and build a brighter future for every child in need. #StreetChildrenDay #HomelessChildren #BreakingBarriers #RaisingAwareness #SupportingChildren #BuildingABetterFuture #EmpoweringYouth #MakingADifference #ChildrensRights #EqualOpportunities #SocialImpact #EndChildHomelessness #CharityWork

Today, on World Day Against Child Labor, we highlight the plight of 218 million children worldwide who are denied the chance to be children. Many of these children work full-time, missing out on education, play, proper nutrition, and care. The International Labour Organization (ILO) launched this day in 2002 to focus on the global extent of child labor and the actions needed to eliminate it. The theme for 2024 is "Social Justice for All. End Child Labor!" This theme emphasizes the need for fair, inclusive societies where children can thrive. Here are 5 ways you can help in the fight against child labor: - Support Education: Donate to or volunteer with organizations that provide quality education for children. - Raise Awareness: Use your voice on social media to highlight the issue of child labor. - Advocate for Change: Contact your local representatives to push for stronger child labor laws. - Promote Ethical Practices: Buy from companies with child-labor-free supply chains. - Support Families: Donate to social protection programs that help families in need. Together, we can end child labor and create a brighter future for all children. #EndChildLabor #SocialJusticeForAll #SDGs #GlobalGoals #QualityEducation #ReducedInequalities #DecentWork #ResponsibleConsumption #NoPoverty #ZeroHunger
