🏭As it does every year, nova-Institut GmbH has updated its research on how #polymers biodegrade in different environments. Natural polymers like starches and cellulose have been proven to biodegrade universally, as have #biobased bacterial polymers like PHAs. 👉Though PLA #biodegradation is typically restricted to industrial composting or anaerobic digestion, its potential for applications such as food packaging is significant. Through the European SISTERS project, we are developing PLA-based food packaging optimized for home composting, thanks to Carbiolice's innovative #enzyme technology.
