👀🔤 Hold onto your dots, folks, because today we’re celebrating World Braille Day! 🎉🦸♂️ A massive shoutout goes to Louis Braille, the original master of dot-to-dot innovation. Thanks to him, what started as a revolutionary way to facilitate literacy and opportunity has evolved into a game-changer for accessibility. Braille literally helps us see things from different perspectives. As we celebrate today, let's commit to making our workplaces more inclusive for everyone. From accessible communication to supportive technologies, small steps can make a big impact. So, let's raise a metaphorical toast (and maybe a real one too—coffee, anyone? ☕) to the power of Braille. Because when it comes to inclusivity, we're all in. After all, what’s a better way to kick off the year than by ensuring no one’s left out in the dark? Here's to a world where everyone reads between the lines—literally and figuratively. 🤓✨

This past weekend, I had the privilege of working at Nashville Oktoberfest once again, representing Nashville Soft Pretzel Co., LLC in the NSPC tent. This marks my third (or maybe fourth!) year contributing to this amazing event, and each year brings new opportunities for growth. In 2023, I transitioned to the production side, where I learned to carefully weigh fresh pretzel dough into 3 or 4 oz increments quickly and efficiently. But this year, I made it a point to learn even more. By shadowing the people who typically run other stations, I picked up new skills and became more versatile in helping out where needed. Our fearless leader, Vincent Dreffs, knows exactly where our strengths lie, and I’m grateful for the chance to expand mine. One thing that makes this team special is how dedicated we all are. A handful of Vince’s family members even fly down from Michigan to work the tent every year—that’s how much this means to us (and how wonderful of a leader he is)! We had no new faces this year, which was reassuring, as everyone knew their roles and was ready to dive back in. The experience felt like clockwork, thanks to this seasoned group of hard-working individuals including Abby Harris, Zach Anderson (BS-Guitar) and Ashley Guastella! This event allows me to hone my Process Improvement skills. Whether it’s in an office or at a festival, my ability to spot inefficiencies and step in to make things run smoother is something I take pride in. When I had a moment to rest, I’d check our stock or see if the service area needed anything. If my coworkers needed a hand, or a station was getting behind, I jumped in wherever I could. As one of our leaders pointed out, learning how to assist with other stations was a huge asset this year, and being adaptable helped the whole operation run more efficiently. I’m proud of what we accomplished, and I can’t wait for next year! 🥨🍻 #NashvilleOktoberfest #Teamwork #Leadership #ProcessImprovement #Adaptability #Tradition #ProjectManagement

One of my favorite things about executive recruiting is the opportunity we have to connect and learn from top leaders in the banking industry on a daily basis, and many of the ideas we hear are often applicable to what we do and how we run our business. Hands down, the most important lesson I've learned this year can be summed up in one word: adaptability. It's inspiring to see how many of you constantly take inventory of where your team is, often reassessing where the new opportunities are and adapting in the midst of difficult and often unprecedented circumstances. As many of you have adapted this year, it's been our privilege to adapt with you and bring top talent to help drive new and innovative programs and initiatives, affording TRG Banking & Financial Services another record year of growth. In an industry where relationships are everything, we continue to be grateful to be a part of your talent acquisition strategy; and, as we move into 2025, we look forward to continuing to grow with you, adapt with you, and share in the many successes that 2025 will bring. Wishing you all the Happiest of Holidays and a Bright New Year!
🎉 Happy New Year from The Richmond Group USA! 🎉 As we step into a fresh year, we’re filled with gratitude for the partnerships, successes, and milestones we’ve achieved together in 2024. Your trust and collaboration inspire us to continue innovating, growing, and delivering the best! 🥂🎈 #newyear #nye #newyearseve #happyholidays

🥳 Congratulations to Jamie Toledo, our Economic Development Relationship Manager, on reaching 7 years at the Economic Alliance! In honor of the occasion, we asked her some questions reflecting on the past and looking forward to the future: • Why did you initially want to work for the Economic Alliance? I had the opportunity to work with supplier diversity programs in the past and small business recovery efforts after the flood. The impact on me personally and professionally has been a constant driver to see our business community thrive. The Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance provides a “one-stop shop” for connections to business resources and partnerships in the economic development space. It’s a privilege to support our diverse portfolio of existing businesses and help to welcome new ones to our community. • What has been the most rewarding part about being a part of this team? The unique perspective of working with an organization that gets to “see behind the curtain” by learning about how different industries operate and how all the dots connect. The scope of economic development has become more holistic as people start to understand how one aspect of the business community can affect so many others. It’s exciting to see our area forge into that new world. I learn something new every day. • How are you planning on celebrating your anniversary? AKA, what excites you about the upcoming year? I don’t typically take time to celebrate…but heading to one of our local restaurant establishments sounds like a plan I could tackle. I’m excited for it all! The talent and business attraction plans for the area, new collaborative efforts in the entrepreneur space, and quality of life projects in the hopper. There is a general feeling out there that our region is on the tipping point of significant growth, and that’s exciting. The • What is your favorite Economic Alliance brand color and why? Orange, as it represents optimism, energy, and creativity to me.

Happy #FACSfamFriday, everyone! Before you go out and celebrate Memorial Day, we have our next Employee Spotlight to unveil! Our very own Fred Vinciguerra is next to be in our spotlight! Fred is our CEO and works out of the Hayward office. Check out Fred's responses to our questions below, as well as a photo of him with his family out in nature. Do you have any questions for Fred or other FACS employees you'd like to see answered in the next #FACSfamFriday? Let us know by commenting on this post! What is one thing that you geek out about? It's sad, but I really don't geek out about much. Maybe the Chicago Bears, Cubs, and Blackhawks. I love my Chicago teams, but geeking out is probably a stretch. What is one way that you unwind? Either by getting my sweat on (exercising, even though it doesn't show) or fixing something. I'm not super handy, but I enjoy giving it a try and feel really good when it actually works after I tried. Is there anything you wished would come back into fashion? Perm's for guys - nevermind, I wouldn't be able to get one anyway. What celebrity would you like to meet at Starbucks for a cup of coffee? Howard Stern - please don't judge. I think he does an amazing job interviewing people and is not afraid to ask questions others shy away from. What is one of your favorite books? I really don't read fiction but I do enjoy a good business book. One of my favorites is Oren Harari, Break from the Pack. It's about how to compete in a copy cat society and Malcolm Gladwell's, Outliers and What the Dog Saw - lots of short, facsinating stories. Favorite quote? "A man with one watch knows the time. A man with two is never sure."

Celebrating achievements is powerful – it’s about more than just the gesture. (If you want to build a cohesive team) Join us as we introduces the Employee of the Month for December at Talent Trellis, Ryan! Fresh initiative. Family traditions intertwined. Spirited team culture enhancement. Why does this matter? We had Ryan, a three-month-old team member. And guess what? Ryan smashed every stat, setting benchmarks in record time. Achievements? Check. Dedication? Check. Community spirit? Overwhelmingly present. What made it special? A 250-year-old family pendant 😉 Passed down generations – now bestowed upon Ryan. Here’s why it’s an unmatched move. Ryan’s journey: 1. Top performer metrics. 2. Unparalleled team collaboration. 3. Emotional investment. This isn’t just acknowledgment – it’s tradition, emotion, and growth bundled together. The pendant? Not just an award. It’s history. A promise of continued excellence. We’re creating memories and legacies, not just monthly winners. Think about embedding values into your recognitions. → Tradition. → Recognition. → Unity. Watch your team soar. It’s been a hectic few months... As a result, you may have noticed that I’ve been MIA on here. I’m not going to glorify my busyness, which is what we often see on social media and within society. The truth of the matter is that at times I’ve found it counterproductive to wear many hats. Your focus is diluted, and you feel like you’re barely keeping your head above water. When you’re immersed in the daily tasks of driving your business forwards, it can be difficult to see the progress and the impact. At times, I can become fixated on pursuing what needs to be done rather than reflecting on the highlights and successes. Recently, THIIS Magazine did a feature article on my business to celebrate our 20-year anniversary. It made me stop in my tracks and take a moment… From a market stall in Leeds to a thriving business with plans for expansion, I allowed myself the time to acknowledge my win and the grit I’ve put in. Of course, I can’t take all the credit. I have a supportive family and dedicated team around me. Without them, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Together we’re changing lives, making a difference, and I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished and where we are heading. Here’s the article if you’d like to read it. 👉 https://bit.ly/3AXfSPz
