Holiday events are upon us! While absolutely well intentioned and all rooted in powerful connection, meeting with what feels like everyone you've ever met during the holiday season can get overwhelming. This is where the value of knowing your 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 - 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 - really comes in handy. 𝗘𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 - wait 24-48 hours before giving your final answer. 𝗦𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗹 - allow your energy to speak it's truth. Mmmmm hmmmm, yes, energetic movement toward the event, commit. Uh uh, no, or movement away, don't commit. 𝗦𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗰 - give an answer in the moment, but then have the organizer ask you again on the day of the event. Your answer may change (and that's OK). No matter what your Authority is, giving yourself time is always helpful, so if you don't know when you're invited just take the lead from Moira and go with "pending".

Let's make the most of holiday and year end celebrations! 🎁 The world is festooned with sparkle and glitter. I see it in my neighbourhood, at homes, restaurants, hotels, malls, markets, shops, and all the places we gather to celebrate. Given all the events during what I call the "silly-season", this is a perfect time to consider adding inspiration to your conversations. Words are powerful and small adjustments in your language can bring deeper connection and help you stand out as a leader. For example, instead of bemoaning a commitment you've made saying, "I have to do [fill in the commitment] before we shut down for the holidays." Say, I get to do [fill in the commitment] before we shut down for the holidays." Note the positive tone, open and engaging attitude, and higher energy when you consider changing just one word. I'm sharing more examples in my December newsletter, but I'd love to hear from you. What is something you've changed in your language and what has been the result?

This holiday season has been filled with joy and quality time spent with loved ones. I had the pleasure of sharing moments with my youngest niece, Lennon, at our cherished Christmas Festival in our hometown. As we approach the new year, it's essential to shift our focus towards strategic planning. While family time is precious, it's also crucial to prepare for the upcoming year by addressing key strategic priorities. Let's embrace the holiday spirit while also gearing up for a successful and productive new year ahead. #HolidaySeason #StrategicPlanning

As I headed off to board my flight to New Zealand to assist one of my clients, I noticed how the Christmas decorations have started to appear everywhere (yes it was the 1st of Dec as I left). Listening to clients, random people, the voice in my own head, it highlighted the fact that December is basically 'two ends of the same stick' for most people. This time is either; ✔ The busiest time of the year for their business (or life) ✔ The time of the year they prepare to slow down Some people are looking back at 2024 lamenting; ❌ All the things that went wrong ❌ All the things they didn't do before the end of the year Some people are looking forward to 2025 think about; 🚀 How this is going to be their best year ever 🚀 There is so many wonderful things / experiences awaiting for them. So which one are you as it relates to the fast approaching end of the year? Are you; A. - Looking forward to your best year ever in many if not all parts of your life? B - Trying to put the 'funk' of 2024 behind you, ruminating on what didn't go as planned. Put your answer in the comments (A or B) P.S. No matter what happened for you this year, this is the way it was meant to unfold. If I was wrong, you would have had different things happen for you! 🤣

Amid the flurry of holiday preparations, it’s easy to forget this simple truth: Progress is built not just in action, but in reflection. Take a moment to step back and celebrate what you’ve accomplished—not just the big wins, but the quiet persistence, the lessons learned, and the connections made along the way. This holiday season, let’s practice the power of pause. Ask yourself: What was your proudest moment this year? What challenges stretched your limits and helped you grow? How will you carry these lessons into the future? The greatest gift we can give ourselves is the time to reflect and reimagine what’s possible.
