I believe that building strong, mutually beneficial relationships is fundamental to effective leadership. I've become known as a bit of a fixer—someone who can get things done that others have not been able to do before. While I can get things done, trust and mutual respect are what make the difference. When I worked in Africa, one of the challenges we faced was a lack of trust. Large corporations would come into African countries and bring their trained employees without developing local talent. This made the government very uneasy - and rightfully so. My biggest success in Africa was implementing a fully-fledged dialling system and a local team that could run the system and strategy without interference from South Africa. Trust was absolutely crucial in helping us navigate complex negotiations and achieve a win-win outcome. How do you go about building strong professional relationships? Share your stories below! #keepgoing #keepgrowing #payitforward The content in this post is my opinion and doesn't constitute advice.

14 years ago we set up Executives in Africa to support companies across Africa in finding the best business leaders to grow their organisations and have a positive impact. These leaders have built, and continue to build businesses that are delivering goods and services previously unavailable as well as providing employment for thousands across the continent. They navigate companies through times when the markets are challenging. Our ability to access high quality African talent and support localisation remains a priority, and we are proud that 79% of the business leaders we place are African nationals. Furthermore, we are now achieving our diversity target with 30% of senior appointments being high quality female leaders. We have been, and will remain, 100% committed to the African continent. It's not an 'also-ran' for Executives in Africa. It's what we do. Our team have delivered nearly 950 Searches across 42 countries from Senior Management level, through all C suite positions, right the way up to NED and Chairman roles. We work across sectors with specialist Consultants, each one of whom, is passionate about, and committed to, delivering the very best results for our clients in Africa. As we enter our 15th year, we would like to thank all our clients and candidates we have worked with over the years. Hello, LinkedIn community, I'm excited to share that I'm researching nonprofit leadership in Saudi Arabia and Australia as part of my PhD studies. I'm seeking experienced nonprofit Executive Recruiters, CEOs, and Chairpersons from both countries who would be willing to participate in a 45 to 60-minute interview. Here are the top exciting questions my research aims to answer: How do Saudi Arabia and Australia's nonprofit leaders acquire different forms of resources? How does family upbringing (socialization within the family) influence the advancement and success of nonprofit leaders in Saudi Arabia and Australia? How are non-profit leaders selected for leadership positions? How does the selection process differ from the for-profit sector? What I'm asking for: I'm inviting nonprofit executive recruiters with experience working in Saudi Arabia or Australia to share their insights and perspectives on these topics. What participation involves: Executive Recruiters and chairs would participate in a 45-—to 60-minute interview, while CEOs would participate in a 90-minute interview conducted via Zoom or another preferred platform at a convenient time. Your input will contribute valuable insights that can inform academic research and real-world nonprofit practices. How participants will be 'rewarded': While participation does not result in a monetary reward, your contributions will be acknowledged in the research findings, and you'll have the opportunity to advance knowledge in the nonprofit sector. How to contact me: If you're interested in participating or know someone who might be, please feel free to contact me directly here on LinkedIn. You can also contact my PhD advisor, Miriam Yates, at m.yates@uq.edu.au or my associate advisor, Tim Reddel, at tim.reddel@uq.edu.au. Thank you for considering this opportunity to contribute to valuable research on nonprofit leadership! #leadership #nonprofit #NFP #research #ProBonoCareers

🚀 From Africa to the World: Driving Impact Across Borders In my career, I’ve had the privilege to lead business transformations across West Africa, managing complex operations and delivering growth against the odds. From rebuilding automotive operations during chip shortages to launching express retail shops under challenging conditions, I’ve learned that resilience and strategic vision go hand-in-hand. But for me, it’s never just about numbers—it’s about unlocking potential in people, businesses, and markets. Every role, whether in Ghana, Senegal, or Guinea, has deepened my understanding of what it takes to thrive in diverse environments. These experiences have empowered me to solve real-world problems with practical solutions that align with long-term business objectives. As I set my sights on the next chapter, I am seeking leadership roles where I can continue to drive growth, inspire teams, and make a lasting impact—whether that’s in operations, strategy, or business development. If you're looking for someone with global insights, local execution, and a relentless drive to win, let’s connect. 🌍 Impact with Care: A Journey Across Middle East, Turkey, and Africa 🌍 Today, I had the incredible opportunity to address my colleagues across the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa about what “Impact with Care” means to me. This concept isn’t just a buzzword; it’s a guiding principle that shapes how we approach our work and interactions every day. In addition to my current role, I lead continuous improvement projects across the region. This involves not only identifying and solving problems but doing so with a deep sense of empathy and understanding. It’s about recognizing the unique challenges and opportunities in each market and working collaboratively to create solutions that truly make a difference. To me, Impact with Care means: Listening actively to understand the real issues. Acting with empathy to ensure our solutions are inclusive and sustainable. Leading by example to inspire others to adopt a caring approach in their work. I’m proud to be part of a team that values these principles and strives to make a positive impact every day. Together, we can drive meaningful change and create a better future for our communities. #Leadership #ContinuousImprovement #EmpathyInAction #ImpactWithCare #MiddleEast #Turkey #Africa #ProfessionalGrowth Rinet Bahar Hande Ozturk Kerimoglu Yeşim Salman Farida Otaki Mahmoud Wasfy , DBA Anastasia Izhbulatova Avashnee Bagratee
