Associate Director at Novartis / Passionately DEI-driven / Disparity Destroyer / Aspires to be “the healthcare advocate granddaughter to Grandmas everywhere”!
When we show up in all of our glory our impact is simply undeniable! How proud I am to work with the two amazing Leaders featured in the post attached below in an organization like #MyCompany#Novartis where extremely accomplished leaders like these two and others, simply see themselves as each of our colleagues and as such, eliminate hierarchies and imagined barriers and allow themselves to be accessed.
I promise if you knew me you would know, I am not typically a name-dropper. However, to illustrate my point, I’m going to drop some names. In only five years here, I have organically and on multiple occasions had opportunities to interact directly with both Reshema Kemps-Polanco and Marion Brooks, MBA both members of our senior levels of leadership along with so many others like Desmond Creary, Sherrita Dorsey, Hannah Perry, and Rob Kowalski to mention a few. Yeah, I know, that’s quite a bit of name-dropping going on 😁 so I’ll stop though I could drop scores more! My point is, here at Novartis we show up to have the greatest impact we possibly can! We do this at all levels of our organization from the local field sales ranks (me) through U. S. Leadership, across oceans to our Global partners up to and including our CEO Vas Narasimhan (yes, I know him too, met him twice now though he’s based in Basel,Switzerland…please forgive me, I couldn’t resist 😆)! At Novartis, we show up for our customers and for their patients! Importantly, WE.ALSO.SHOW.UP.FOR.EACH.OTHER!
Here at Novartis we have access to each other and this includes access to our leaders. We recognize WE ARE OUR OWN MOST VALUABLE RESOURCE! It is as easy as a simple email request for time on a calendar or an MS Teams meeting invite. In five short years I have found the smallest intentional asks I have made of anyone here (whether I had previously met them or not), have been received most often with my request being accommodated. Initially I was shocked by it all, but I have come to understand that this environment is the way it has been designed with absolute intentionality.
We know that the next BIG IDEA can come from anyone at any level at anytime and we are Smart & Healthy enough to know better than to miss out because of imaginary boundaries that cannot be crossed!
Reshema said it best as she opened her wonderful post attached below, “Breaking barriers and affecting change require us to be bold, courageous and united. It’s hard work…”, and #ThisIsHowWeDoIt!

Executive Vice President, Chief Commercial Officer, Novartis US | Corporate Board Director
Breaking barriers and affecting change require us to be bold, courageous and united. It’s hard work…we have a long way to go…but it’s important to celebrate progress in pursuit of excellence.
Last week the The Executive Leadership Council (ELC) hosted their annual Recognition Gala to celebrate the significant and lasting contributions of individuals and organizations to pave the way for future generations of Black executives. Novartis was proud to be a sponsor of the event, and as a recently inducted member, I had the honor of attending alongside a number of my Novartis colleagues. I am personally committed to maximize the privilege of having a ‘seat at the table’, representing both the generations of leaders who will follow after me, and the giants on whose shoulders I stand proudly.
The Gala and the support of so many Fortune 500 corporations were a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when we are united in purpose to uplift communities and society at large. We are #UnstoppableTogether.

Authentic & Rewarding experience shared on our YouTube Channel as DeAnna reflects on the recent AWESOMELeaders.org Symposium:
I am immensely grateful Michelle Dilley and the AWESOMELeaders.org team, along with Chris
Nicholas and Jennifer McKeehan from the Sams Club team, for orchestrating an incredible event.
The symposium, themed "The Time is Now," brought together supply chain leaders from various industries to activate strategies and realize success through networking and collaboration. The authenticity and empowerment throughout the event were palpable.
To quote the organization, "Thank you to everyone who made the 11th Annual AWESOME Symposium unforgettable. Together, we're driving positive change and transforming the future of women's leadership in supply chain!" Yes, we can!
DeAnna has included her key takeaways from the conference for all to enjoy and be inspired by. Visit the RPE YouTube channel to check them out!

In our culture, food and music bring us together, uniting us in our diversity.
So it is understandable that during Hispanic Heritage month we want to let others experience these important pillars of our culture.
Now…there is so much more about us than just those pillars.
What if during this Hispanic Heritage month, we took advantage of all the attention that comes our way, and also discussed what non-latino leaders need to know about our mindsets and culture, to know exacly how they can help us reach those leadership positions?
That’s what I will be doing in my media and book tour. Let’s join forces with you doing the same in your organization.
It’s 2025 and we barely moved the needle in closing the Latino leadership and pay gaps…we cannot keep waiting much longer.
I hope this slide can be a roadmap to make your #hispanicheritagemonth celebrations matter! Supporting Latino career advancement is a great way to celebrate and honor our culture.
