Today's #tbt is about the participation of VET2Sustain project members in the International Days Event of Vocational Education and Training in Lahti, Finland! The theme was Internationalisation as a Strength in Vocational Education and the VET2Sustain project was presented to share information about collaboration across Europe to increase the attractiveness of vocational education and training. 👩💻👊 The aim of the project is to develop cooperation between VET (Vocational Educational Training) schools and working life in European countries. 🌍 The goal is to promote employment and professional skills and competences and there are 16 partners and 3 associate partners leading this initiative - and Learningdigital is one of them! 💪 Vet2Sustain offers a bridge between the skills mismatch in the workforce and the job requirements of many organisations! 📅 Yesterday we had the opportunity to attend the ProTalento FP Forum in Cantabria, the first meeting of its kind in the region, organized by CEOE-CEPYME Cantabria in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training of Gobierno de Cantabria, CaixaBank Dualiza and the Cantabria Chamber of Commerce. ▶ This event represents a crucial step in strengthening the relationship between companies and educational centers, in order to adapt Vocational Training to the demands of the labor market and improve youth employability. We were enriched by the presentations and networking among professionals committed to education and employability in Cantabria. ℹ Since 2013, we have been pioneers in Cantabria in hosting Dual Vocational Training students, working closely with educational centers to offer practical training adapted to the real needs of our sector. 🎯 We have focused on key areas such as machining, maintenance and administration, contributing directly to students acquiring specific knowledge that complements their academic training and prepares them to face the challenges of the working world. 🤝 Our experience and commitment to Dual Vocational Training allows us to contribute to the development of young talent in the region, supporting the creation of a collaborative network between companies and educational centers. In every such opportunity, we reaffirm our commitment to train the professionals of the future and build a connection between learning and practice, ensuring that new generations have a solid foundation for their professional careers. 🌍 EUClass Alliance Network: Bridging Vocational Training and University Across Europe The EUClass Alliance Network launches on November 4, 2024, creating an innovative bridge between vocational training and academia to address Europe’s changing economic and social landscape. This project, led by ENAC Ente Nazionale Canossiano ETS and including the University of Trento (UNITN), unites VET institutions from Italy, Spain, Estonia, Finland, Greece, and the Netherlands. This unique collaboration reflects a vision of combining practical VET training with academic research to meet the needs of Generation Z and beyond. Starting with an online meeting, followed by an in-person gathering in december inn Verona, Italy, the project’s early stages will focus on aligning goals and strategies across borders. UNITN brings critical research insights on employment trends and pedagogy to the project, while VET partners offer on-the-ground expertise, creating a shared framework to shape the future of vocational education. With a mission to strengthen VET’s role across Europe, this partnership fosters international collaboration, enabling skill-sharing and mobility for students and educators alike. You know that vocational education and training is dear to my ❤️. That is why I would like to share the latest good news 📰 from Erasmus+: 72 new projects for international cooperation in VET have been selected and will receive funding. More than €26 million have been made available for 72 new projects for international cooperation in VET for 2024. The 72 projects selected cover 78 countries and were chosen from a record number of eligible and evaluated project proposals. Among many other measures, Erasmus+ also finances capacity building in VET. Capacity building in VET aims to improve the quality, accessibility and responsiveness of VET systems in countries around the world. This is done by strengthening the capacity of VET staff and teachers, as well as the link between service providers and the labour market. This capacity building in vocational education and training covers most of the world as it is open to all 27 EU countries, the six countries associated with Erasmus+: Iceland, Liechtenstein, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia, Turkey, countries of the Western Balkans, the Eastern Neighbourhood, Sub-Saharan Africa, the Southern Mediterranean, Latin America and the Caribbean. The call for 2025 is expected to be published on the Erasmus+ website in November. The application deadline will then probably be as early as February of the following year. The visit forms a segment of their involvement in an insightful program on governance and digital transformation in Europe, adeptly coordinated by the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) under Professor Antonio Guerrero's guidance. The insightful program, named "International Forum on Governance, Information Systems Management, and Industry 4.0," is tailored for advanced students eager to delve into the pivotal role of governance and digital innovation in today's world. Adopting the Erasmus Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) model, the curriculum blends in-person and virtual learning with lectures, seminars, and practical workshops based in Cartagena. This visit is part of their participation in a program focused on governance and digital transformation within the European context, a venture masterfully coordinated by the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) and led by Professor Antonio Guerrero. 🎓 This program, titled "International Forum on Governance, Information Systems Management, and Industry 4.0", is designed for advanced students with a clear focus on the significance of governance and digital innovation as central axes for study and debate. Every year, we assemble a consortium of half a dozen Centers of Vocational Excellence and tender materials (this is the fourth year already). 🧐 What is the Centers of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) and why we support applicants at; 🤝 consortium building, ⚙️ developing project objectives, 📖 and preparing tender materials? Because these institutions are trying to revolutionize workforce training in the European Union! 🔎 The main goal of CoVE is to provide high quality workforce training. They work closely with CoVEs and companies operating in other countries in order to offer new technologies or sustainable solutions. 🖥️ The CoVE plays an extremely important role in large-scale EU plans, such as the green transition and wider use of digital technology. These centres enable young people and adults to keep up with the latest developments in the world of work, especially when workplaces go through technological or environmental changes.
